1965 Chevrolet C10 Pickup Description

1965 Chevrolet C-10 Pickup

The Chevrolet C-10 designation can be confusing at times, with the C-10, C-20, C-30, and then the line of K designations to throw in as well. The difference being between C & K is C is 2-wheel drive, and K is 4-wheel drive. The numerical designation denotes weight maximum. 10 is 1/2 ton, 20 is 3/4 ton, and 30 is 1 ton.

A frame off restoration in 2009, then on to our current consigner who "went to town" on finishing it off with modern upgrades and customizations. Sporting its paint and frame from the 2009 restoration, virtually everything recently installed is new. A resto-mod?

Exterior
Bathed in red, this truck shows with a 1961 Apache model hood, with its "eyebrow style". It has an 8 foot step-side bed, rear facing visor, and a nifty chrome Custom trim on the B pillar. Beautiful chrome bumpers and grille, sweet side pipes that sound off nicely, and Summit Racing 6 series gunmetal wheels all around. Retaining its beautiful shine, straight steel, and well minded gaps, this truck presents very nicely...have to love the '61 hood. A shout out to the oak and chrome stripped bed which could double as a dance floor...it is really that nice. They shoot horses, don't they?

Interior
A swing of the doors and this interior is just begging you to get in. Red and Black cloth buckets are pristine and flank a custom center leather covered console. This console has extra USB ports added and a B&M shifter. The passenger seat is actually a seat and 1/2 allowing for a third passenger, who would share legroom with the outboard individual. A beautiful GT retro style steering wheel in chrome and wood fronts a restored painted dash that has features aplenty. Vintage air conditioning, Pioneer stereo with CD, Kenwood Amp and sub-woofer, Pioneer speakers, and AutoMeter Sport Comp 2 gauges to name a few. Plush red carpet covers the floors and black bow tie embroidered floor mats protect the near perfect red carpet. Nothing but clean red sprayed metal up top for the headliner.

Drivetrain
Flipping the hood, we are met with your area where you will be eating dinner tonight in the form of a sterile beautifully resorted engine bay. A consigner stated 396ci small block topped by a 780 Holley carb and Hedman headers gleams at you. Blueprint racing aluminum cylinder heads are on either side. A TCI Street fighter 700 R-4 automatic transmission and a 3.73 geared Auburn posi-traction unit on the rear, and we are ready to spin some rear tires with this 500hp setup. All kept cool by a Griffin aluminum radiator. Just a beautiful job under the hood.

Undercarriage
Nearly perfect underneath with a combination of black and red steel underpinnings and finished oak from the underside of the bed, you spend hours underneath just gazing in amazement. Some upgrades to the suspension in the form of CCP front tubular control arms. Front 1-3/6 sway bars and rear 1-1/8 sway bars add to the handling of this truck. SSBC drilled disc brakes have been upgraded and slapped on for the woah horsey.

Drive-Ability
Turn the key, hear throaty exhaust, put the truck in gear and go like hell. Handles very well, and interior is ergonomically near perfect for me or my cohort test driver were accommodated just fine.

A trip back in time with the iconic Chevrolet eyebrow hood from 1961, plenty of upgrades and a stunning interior. Anytime one hears frame off you know you are going to see quality, and this truck does not disappoint in looks and quality of build.
