The car came out of a family of true automotive enthusiasts, the family having actually owned multiple racetracks in the Midwest through the years. This car served as Mom’s around-town summer driver, only accruing 10k miles over the course of her 32 year ownership. The car was always garage kept and babied, and the survivor-level condition as the car sits now is pretty impressive. This is a time-capsule-like, show-worthy example that is sure to make the next owner very happy. Exterior: - Please see the video along with the listing, as the car is shown in detail. Blemishes are all shown close-up, though there are few. Blemishes are limited to a few little chips scattered about, as well a somewhat scuffed-up black plastic front lip. Condition is consistent with a 10k-mile example that has been responsibly kept since new. - This car still retains its original paint and it presents extremely well, with no significant signs of age. A nice, glassy finish. - Glass is all clear and crack-free. Light lenses are also clear and crack-free. Lights and signals are all functional. Weatherstripping is excellent throughout. - Doors open and close nice and smoothly. No panels have ever been damaged or removed. - Original 16” x 8.5” Sawblades are in excellent shape, with no curb rash, pitting, or other damage. Just the tiniest bit of age. BF Goodrich G-Force Sport tires appear in close-to-new condition, and the DOT number indicates they were manufactured in 2009. Interior: - Graphite leather contrasts very well with the bright red exterior. Seats are in impressive condition. No scuffs, punctures, or other damage. There’s a small spot of stitching coming undone at the outside upper corner of the driver’s bolster. Easy fix. See photos for a good look. - Carpeting in the rear cargo area shows a little bit of discoloring along the sides and should be replaced or professionally cleaned in order for this car to really be outta-this-world in terms of condition. Carpeting up front is excellent, with no fraying or signs of age whatsoever. Floormats are in great shape as well. - Dash is in great shape. There’s a little spot of adhesive in the center, but no cracks, warping, or any other signs of age. Digital dash display is fully functional. Odometer is functional and reading of 10,015 miles is known to be accurate. All interior lights are functional, power windows are functional. - Radio is functional, but it does sound like the passenger door speaker is blown out. It plays but is fairly static-y. - Fan and heat are functional. Air conditioning has been converted from R12 to R134a. Compressor does kick on and blow cold, but honestly, it’s so cold in Chicago that it’s hard to know whether that’s AC-cooled air or not. Regardless, the compressor is functional and it has been converted, so worst case it would just need a top-up of refrigerant. Mechanical / Underbody: - Please take a look through the underbody photos, as the car is documented in detail. This car is excellent underneath. There is some oxidation on the original mufflers but aside from that the car is extremely clean underneath. - The car runs and drives every bit as well as you would hope and expect from a well-taken-care-of 10k-mile survivor. It feels like new. Nice and tight. Truly no tendencies or noises of concern. It starts right up, idles cool/steady/quiet, pulls hard through the gears with no hesitation, shifts smoothly and on-time, brakes straight and effectively, and the ride quality is excellent. No shakes, rattles, pulling under acceleration/braking, steering play, etc. A well-sorted, entirely original, freak example.
