1953 Chevrolet Other Pickups -- Description
1953 Chevrolet 3100 1/2 ton truck, under restoration and ready for the next step. Clear 1953 title and data plate in my name. Down to bare frame, everything new as built up. 1962 full oil pressure engine which runs well, has Wayne dress up kit, valve cover and rocker arm cover. New everything, starter and generator rebuilt, new water pump, new radiator, new gas tank, new fuel lines, all brakes and lines new. New exhaust. Nice wheels with decent tires.
Body is an excellent original, from the Midwest, with virtually no rust compared to what you see on the market. See pictures for full explanation. Body was professionally sand blasted, sanded down, then epoxy primed. Body is not perfect, but it's probably in the top 5% of unrestored truck bodies you'll find. Didn't like the idea of a gas tank behind the seat, so gas tank is mounted as in earlier trucks.
Near perfect doors from the Midwest, blasted and primed with epoxy primer, no rust whatsoever. New hood, excellent.
Have steering wheel, column, some shift parts, windows (door, rear, rear curved, no windshield), some handles, seats and seat frame, and other parts. Look at pictures, what is there is what I have. If you don't see it in pictures, it's not included in sale.
I have a bunch of money in this project, we all know how that goes, have no intention of getting it all back, as I'm into five figures. But, this is a cut above what's on the market. I do know that what's there has some value, and reserve is set accordingly. It's safe and secure in a dry warehouse, may not be worth what I want right this instant, but it will be soon, as you look at values of restored trucks, and I won't be eating beans for a year if it doesn't sell. A lot of trucks sell cheap, but they need thousands of dollars of body work. Not this one.
Truck in Wincheste, Virginia. Would be glad to arrange inspection if Ebay lets us, otherwise, you're obligated to take it as it sits with high bid.
Thanks, shipping not included of course. $500 non refundable Paypal deposit with winning bid, balance in hand upon picking up the truck.
On Nov-20-19 at 14:52:51 PST, seller added the following information:The one picture of rust in the floor is directly under the driver's seat. It's the only rust on the floorboard of the truck. I have over $11K in this truck, maybe a little more, which includes new everything on the running gear, purchasing a very good body from the Midwest with virtually no rust compared to most of what's out there, professional sandblasting and epoxy priming of body, and some labor costs. I don't expect to get that back, I'm realistic, but also can stash in the side of my warehouse for a while if need be, I won't starve. I can only tell you that I'm not playing games with this truck, it's for sale, it's a great basis for a restoration. You can buy such trucks unrestored for five or six thousand dollars, but the rust repair alone after that will add to that and end cost more than I'm asking for this truck. Also, I understand Ebay and the last minute bids, I've been doing it for years. I'd offer up that honest bids well before end of this auction are much more effective, and if dollars get reasonable, I may drastically lower reserve, who knows, depends on which tax bill shows up in the mail that day. Thanks for all the interest.
