1965 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu Description

This is a 65 Malibu 136 car.It is a California car that was owned by the same man since new. Hemoved from California in the 80’s to Pensacola Florida. I bought the car from his relatives in2017. This car came from the factory inwhite. Somewhere along the line hedecided to paint it green. The side trimwas removed and holes welded. The firstphoto is what it looked like some time ago not exactly sure when it was takenbut that’s how it looked when I bought it.The car has factory AC, power steering, power brakes, power windows anda column shift tilt wheel. All the accables work great, the evaporator was removed and pressure tested. The heater box was lined with felt around theflaps to ensure good sealing. TheSuction throttle valve was rebuilt but also have the bypass kit to make a cyclingsystem as later models have. New OEM GMheater core installed. The car has nobody rust except a small spot on the bottom left fender where it bolts to thebody mount. Floors and trunk are solid,no rust. The left rear tail light areahas had previous damage, minor. The rightfront fender had a dent about the size of a quarter near the crease on thefender. Both repairs could have beenbetter but probably was done 25 or 30 years ago. The salt water air had caused a scale tobuild up on all the suspension so everything on the front has been changed anddisc brakes were installed at the time.Upper and lower control arms, springs, shocks, tie rod and tie rod ends. The suspension is new. On the rear new springs and air shocks, It has a new gas tank and new OEM exhaustfrom manifolds back. It is quiet. New brakes on the rear as well. I have started the process of changing thecar back to white. The cowl, rockerpanels and door jambs were trimmed with the doors off. The doors were trim as well andreinstalled. They shut as they shouldwith good lines. All glass was removedand window channels cleaned and a couple of pin holes repaired. New package tray installed and all theinterior was repainted in original turquoise. The headliner is new, the seat covers appear to be original and in greatshape. The instrument panel was treatedto a white face gage treatment. New acducts were installed. All the dashlights work and the fan works fine.Installed a new fan motor and all AC and Heater relays. The door panels in the photo are original, the fronts are ok but the back ones had drawn moisture I have new Door panels from uniqueindustries. They exactly like OEM, stillin the box. They were not cheap but areexact OEM panels. Still need a few smallinterior pieces, ie door lock knob and ferrels.I have new power window switches, new arm rest, new door hangles, newvent window hanfles, all new door weatherstripping and window felts with chromebead inside and outside. The Tilt columnhas new levers and the transmission shift indicator is in great shape. I have second tilt column that has been rebuiltand needs repainting. These columns arevery rare. I have to steering wheels forthe car plus the OEM wheel.

The car has new radiator, new condenser, new AC lines, newdrier which is still in the box. All newhoses to include power steering. Newpower brake booster and master cylinder and new lines and brake junction block installed. I have all new front end trim, new hoodspear, grill headlight trim rings etc.New front and rear bumpers. Therear bumper has the chrome bracket for the tag holder.

The original engine had water in number 6 cylinder thatapparently was there for years. Theengine ran but had no compression on number 6 cylinder. It was not economically repairable so I wentwith an engine that ran well, sounded good and doesn’t smoke. It’s out of a 91 camaro. I cleaned the engine well and repainted it,new valve covers and gaskets. Installedthe short water pump and used all M brackets to make everything line up. Everything under the hood has been replacedor repaired both mechanical and electric. It has an edlebrock electric choke carb, aluminum intake and a new L79breather. I have an AFB carb aswell. Car needs nothing under thehood. It has the original power glidetransmission, it works well but has a leak around the shifter input shaft. I have a 200R4 that is a direct bolt in andwill give the car a 4 speed auto with no modifications. The fenders have been trimmed andreinstalled. The windshield is stillout, a new one is in the box. Backwindow was reinstalled after interior painting.Dash was repainted and new dash pad installed. All power windows work as they should. I have a six way power seat system for thecar as well.

I do not have any trim for the rear, my intention was toweld all holes except the ones for Chevrolet script and make it look like a 300sedan in the rear. (see last photo) I do not have bumperbrackets, back up lights or parking lights. They were misplaced. All areavailable new. Car needs very little tobe ready for paint.

I’m selling because I just don’t want to do thisanymore. I’m 70 and it’s time toquit. The car is located in Johnson City,Tennessee in a condo garage. I reallydon’t have a place to do much work..Good solid body and frame and boxes of new parts. Highly optioned car for 1965 model I have tons of photos, just email. you may call 423 773 6021
