The current graphics are vinyl and can be easily removed.The paint and trim are in overall very good condition and this truck has solid and straight bodywork. The wood-finished cargo area is in very good condition and stand ready to accept boxes of office supplies, cases of beverages, drawers of small parts, etc. The engine bay is tight and tidy and the truck’s chrome bumpers are in very good order, too. As was common on pre-war and early post-war designs, this truck has only a driver’s side-mounted taillight and windshield wiper.This truck rolls on older Firestone Destination radials, size 235/70R16 at every corner. Each tire is mounted to an Ultra six-spoke alloy wheel. The wheels are in average condition while the tires are in very good shape, with plenty of tread depth but are showing their age. There is some surface rust showing on the front grill, please see photos.Under the hood is a 350 Chevrolet small-block V-8 breathing via dual, side-mounted exhausts. Backing this motor is a four-speed automatic transmission. The turn signal and right side brake lights are inoperable. Inside, most of the interior has been retrofitted and is in overall good shape. A pair of black, contoured bucket seats replace the original bench seat. The instrument panel has a full array of gauges with wood accent trim. A B&M shifter resides between the seats. While this truck is equipped with air conditioning, the compressor does not engage. For 1947, Chevrolet made the following changes - no vent windows in doors. Hood side emblems read “Chevrolet” with “Thriftmaster” or “Loadmaster” underneath. Serial numbers: EP ½ ton, ER ¾ ton and ES 1 ton.
