Up for auction, NO RESERVE. 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu High Performance 396 Big Block. Odometer exceeds limits, original mileage unknown.I purchased the car from my friends wife after he passed, unfortunately I do not know the details of the engine build, bore, compression, stroke, cam etc. Casting numbers say it is a 396 from 1967 (3902406) backed by a 400 transmission and a posi rear end. This car is extremely fast and sounds beautiful. Lays rubber too easy,Tires chirps going into 2nd gear easily.The Goods:Big Block with new Proform 750 Holly style carburetor sitting of Edelbrock Performer RPM Manifold. Stock HEI ignition with vac advance. Thorley Headers with dual exhaust, just had the header gaskets and collector gaskets replaced, no exhaust leaks. New 4 core aluminum radiator. Holly mechanical fuel pump. Chrome oil pan. New alternator. New suspension, bushings, ball joints etc. New steering box. New stock calipers and rotors. Car drives, handles, steers and stops like it just rolled of the assembly line, yes it's that tight. New door panels. Interior is in great shape, no rips in seats or headliner. Carpet is nice. Headliner is perfect. Has all proper seatbelts. Dash pad is perfect, no cracks at all. Car is very solid, nice paint job with a few typical daily driver blemishes, no rust issues or dents. Stainless steel and chrome are in great shape. A lot of effort went into making this a reliable, solid daily driver. Fires right up a little hard on cold starts. It gets attention and comments everywhere I go in it, a lot of thumbs up. Details that need to be corrected:Windshield has two rock chips. Back window has some scratches, like someone at one time got overzealous with a disc sander around it. Scratch in drivers side window at corner. Passenger side window has a few light scratches. Missing rubber weather strip between passenger side front and rear windows. Window regulators and guides are weak and should be replaced, they rattle a little. Body has light bubbling by passengers side rocker panel. Passengers side quarter has some scratches that should buff out. Antenna on passengers side fender should be replaced. Dome light lens is missing. Clear plastic on heater control panel is cracked. Shift indicator does not work. Gas gauge sometimes works. Missing ventilation ball on drivers side. Clarion CD deck, no speakers at package tray. Beauty rings on Rally wheels are scuffed.I am trying to be as honest as possible regarding the condition of this car.
