Very Clean 40th Anniversary Edition! 33k Miles, Both Roof Panels, 6 Spd Manual!
1993 Chevrolet Corvette 40th Anniversary Description
Of the many special edition C4 Corvettes that rolled out over its lengthy 12-year lifespan, few were more attractive than the 40th Anniversary cars in 1993. With gorgeous Ruby Red anniversary paint, they stood out from the other offerings that year, and today they always get positive comments when you're at the gas station or stopped at a light.
This Anniversary coupe sports only 33,268 original miles, which translates to about 1200 miles per year. That means no snow, no daily grind in rush-hour traffic, and no parking lot commutes, just light weekend jaunts from car show to car show. The finish is sparkling in the sunlight, and the Ruby Red paint is definitely the right choice for a celebration model. This one shows practically zero signs of use, with a clean nose, no rocker panel scuffs, and an incredibly glossy finish that has obviously been lovingly waxed on a regular basis. Obviously, this car has lived in a garage its entire life and been pampered from Day 1. This is a low-ownership Texas car as well, meaning no rust, no salt, and no underbody issues that even on the fiberglass Corvette can be a problem. There's no evidence of accident damage, either (and the Vehicle History Report shows no accidents), so if you're looking for a solid C4, it would be hard to do better than this.
40th Anniversary Corvettes also got a special treatment inside, with matching ruby red leather seats. Showing almost no wear inside as well, with no splits or tears or anything else to speak of other than a few 'comfort marks', the interior has a comfortable, fresh look, which is how the Corvette prefers it. This one was loaded up with options, too. The Anniversary package, which was available on any Corvette, added a power passenger seat as well as the custom embroidery on the headrests, and this car also includes electronic climate control, a Delco/Bose entertainment system, and a six-way power driver's seat. Overhead there's an optional and removeable tinted roof panel which gives the interior an airy, open feeling, even when it's buttoned up as well as the color matched painted roof panel. Everything works, including the cool digital/analog instrument panel that works better than you might think at first glance, and the factory A/C has been upgraded to R134a refrigerant and blows hard and cold today.
Power comes from Chevrolet's legendary 5.7L LT1 V8, which made 300 horsepower in 1993, a very impressive amount today, let alone almost 30 years ago. Performance is entertaining, especially with the 6-speed manual transmission, which is the ZF S6-40 triple overdrive model that shifts smoothly and is a perfect and incredibly fun match to the LT1. There are few better point-and-shoot weapons on the highway than this car, and if you see a space in traffic, punch it and the car roars forward with an amazing symphony that emits from the upgraded pair of 'Super Turbo' mufflers. Some of the most powerful brakes of the era were a Corvette trademark, and by 1993, the suspension was supple, yet energetic delivering one of the best grand tourers of the era. You can see how clean the engine bay is in photos, and there are no questionable modifications, only OEM parts throughout save for the chrome GMPP Chevrolet valve covers. The original, unblemished 17-inch Anniversary wheels with Ruby Red center caps wear a set of contemporary Goodyear Eagle F1 radials, just like on the newer Corvettes. Nice!
C4 Corvettes remain screaming bargains, with a ton of performance and a design that is aging gracefully. Powerful, fast, and with the 40th Anniversary package, downright beautiful, this is a lot of fun for not a lot of scratch. Call today!
