We're excited to offer this modified, sleeper wagon for your consideration. The potency of what's under the hood is not given away immediately. The custom paint, lowered stance, and green windows take your eyes away from noticing the extra wide rear tires, and the 9 inch Ford differential mounted between them.
From a distance, this Chevy wagon looks like a low, green car that has a custom paint job - not all the details really stick out. A closer look reveals that the paint is metallic green with green flames on the hood that are finished in just a slightly darker green than the rest of the car. The original paint color is Cascade Green which is a much lighter than the current metallic green. Extra wide rear wheels wrapped in Mickey Thompson Sportsman tires, and green windows are the only other obvious modifications to the exterior. The rest of the car still wears factory chrome trim, factory tail lights, and factory badges. The body of this sleeper wagon is in great shape. The car was originally from Texas, so we're sure that helped in the condition of the sheetmetal. The paint and bodywork was professionally done, and the fit and finish looks great.
Inside the car is a tidy interior with performance add-ons that have been integrated very nicely. AutoMeter gauges are neatly installed in the dashboard, and a Hurst ProMatic shifter is installed on the floor. The seats and door panels have been retrimmed using the same shapes, piping, and accents that the Parkwood originally had. Opening the tailgate reveals yards of carpeting that covers the tubbed fenders and is framed on either side by green trim.
Beneath the hood that is adorned with flames, is a 454ci V8 that has been punched out to 468 cubic inches and is now estimated to produce in the neighborhood of 550 horsepower. Edelbrock fuel injection, heads, cam, and an MSD Ignition have been installed on the powerplant. Surely enough to give those Mickey Thompson's a workout. Helping get power to the ground is a Ford 9" rear end, while gear selection is handled by a TH350 transmission.
Make your friends green with envy and park this Parkwood in your garage. It's ready for cruises, cars and coffee, or runs down the drag strip. Light those Mickey Thompson's up and put down some fast passes! Be sure to check out all the photos and video on our main website: Garage Kept Motors. Call if interested or e-mail with any questions.
