1971 Chevrolet Blazer 4x4 K5 CST
1971 Chevrolet Blazer CST Description
Here we have a 1971 Chevrolet Blazer for your consideration. This is a running driving mostly complete K5 4x4.This one is still equipped with its original 1971 350 4bbl engine, TH350 Automatic transmission, NP205 Transfer case, Dana 44 front disk brake axle and 12 bolt post trac rear axle. The truck has a fairly newer suspension spring lift all the way around. No blocks. The Blazer is equipped with the dual transfercase crossmember option as well as the skid plate and fuel tank skid plate. All of which are still in place. The four wheel drive system is complete and functioning. The body on this truck is in above average condition for an unrestored example. The best I can tell it still wears almost all of its original paint. The color is code 519 Dark Yellow. A fairly rare color. This is not the more common Ochre color. At some point someone changed the rocker panels with a set of used originals. I don't see evidence of any other body work having been performed to this thing. The rocker torque boxes are solid, windshield frame looks good. The floors are in above average shape with very minor rust through. There is surface rust present as seen in the pictures. Both kick panels have a sliver of rust through at the very bottom where they meet the floors. Theres the typical rust in the pockets up against the rocker panels in front of the rear wheels. A little bit at the very back of the cargo floor as seen in the pictures. The frame appears to be in excellent shape as well as all mounts. This thing is definitely not a big rust bucket. I have built dozens of these Blazers over the years and can say that this one is an excellent builder. The top is in very good condition. There are a couple of very small flaws but besides that its very nice. It doesn't have the bad typical double wall sag either. The hatch is in poor shape, though it does retain all of its hardware and other parts. The factory AC system is still there other than the AC compressor. The original rear seat is still there, the front seats are not original. The good news is whenever they were changed, the original seat mounts to the Blazer were all used and don't appear to be modified to fit the different seats. So thats good. Seatbelts are there still, as well as most all of the hard to find Blazer parts. Theres an aftermarket tire carrier on the back as seen in the pictures. Its in complete functioning condition. Also theres a saddle tank on the drivers side interior rear. Its complete and works great, as well as the original tank. Both work. When I purchased the Blazer it had been sitting for awhile. I pulled the original carb off, disassembled it soaked it and completely rebuilt it. The engine runs very well. It doesn't seem to smoke or leak any oil. I changed all of the filters, engine oil etc. New KNN air filter, new belts, new AC Delco battery, that sort of stuff.Again it does run and drive. The power steering pump is growly and will need changed. Also the tires are shot. If a person wanted to put this thing back on the road, those things would be the very first things to address. Obviously other things could need to be done to make it road worthy if thats what a person wanted to do. I did get the turn signals working, headlights work, under dash lights come on when you open the doors. Windshield wipers work, parking brake works, it has flow master exhaust mufflers on it. sounds good. doors open and close, windows go up and down, you get the point. All vin numbers match throughout the drivers door sticker, VIN tag, frame numbers, SPID on the glovebox and title. If you are looking for something to put back on the road with little work or a great canvas to completely restore top to bottom, this would be a great one for either. Please ask all questions before bidding. If you want to purchase this Blazer outrite before the auction ends, look me up and lets make a deal. I can take as many pictures or videos as you'd like to see.No warranties on this obviously, sold as is where is, buyer is responsible for any and all shipping costs if thats the route the new owner chooses. I can recommend a few good shippers. Happy bidding!!
