You will attract attention and turn heads while driving this car. Of-course being a Z/28 RS tribute means that you have the super sweet look of hideaway headlights and a blacked-out grill. There is also a deep chin spoiler to help keep air from lifting the front of the car at speed, and a cowl-induction hood up top compete with badging for the proper DZ-look. Z/28 badging appears on the grill and the front fenders as well as boldly on the back of the car between the taillights, so this Camaro certainly plays the part nicely. The stripes run up the top and sides of the cowl induction hood and then pick back up on the trunk, continuing over the spoiler. This car has a high driver-grade look that absolutely works. All the chrome on the car, from the pencil thin bumpers front and rear to the side mirrors and door handles are all polished and shine brightly, providing great contrast against the paint. Man, this is a great-looking car!
Open the door and you will find a factory-style blue interior with little wear, that could very well be original based on the materials and condition. The door panels look sharp with a carpeted lower section bordered by thin chrome piping, just ornate enough to attract good attention. The bucket seats are comfortable with pleated center sections surrounded by smooth vinyl with separate headrests. A wood-rimmed three-spoke deep dish steering wheel is mounted on a tilt column with a bowtie center button, and it feels great in the hands of the driver. The dash is neat, clean and stock, with no rips or tears despite it likely being original to the car. Even the chrome edges trimming out the panel segments are crisp and clean. The speedo is on the left and gas gauge on the right next to the ventilation controls, and all the gauges are clear and functioning as they should. An aftemarket gauge cluster in the wood grained center console has the fuel, oil pressure, voltage and water temp gauges, and just behind them is the white shift ball and chrome stalk for the Muncie M21 4-speed manual transmission below. Plush carpeting along with a crisp and clean headliner ties this interior together nicely, and the spacious trunk out back is nicely finished with a reproduction plaid mat.
Pop that cowl induction hood and you will find a recently built 350 cubic inch engine (only 600 miles on this built motor!) nestled down in a neat and clean engine bay that is nicely detailed out. Augmented with solid lifter cams and Phase II Bowtie ported heads add even more pop (418 HP), and the block is topped with a Holley 4-barrel carburetor and performance intake to help it breathe. A 302 DZ-style air cleaner and finned valve covers accentuate the bright Chevrolet Orange painted block making it really pop out of the black engine bay. Newer parts include the power brake system, Vintage Air A/C, aluminum radiator, CenterForce clutch along with most of the belts, hoses and wiring. Wrapped long-tube headers lead out to Flowmaster-style mufflers and chrome exhaust tips. Power steering provides nice drivability and power front disc brakes insure that you can haul this car back down from speed when you decide to let the horses run. 15-inch Rallye wheels finish the Z/28 look, and they're all wrapped in BFGoodrich T/A white-letter radials.
