The '55 Chevy is a rolling legend, and these always look awesome in a two-tone finish. But the paint's presentation instantly guarantees that no one will ever mistake this for a factory machine. The blue section is borrowed from a Viper GTS, which not only loves to radiate in the sunlight, but also hints at this car's performance upgrades. There's an addition of Bel Air side trim That adds to this car's iconic presence, and at the same time, it also provides a distinct separating line for the bright white. The bumpers were painted blue to help give this classic a very contemporary standout presence. But that doesn't mean it missies out on brightwork. There are sparkling custom elements, like the billet grille, crystal-clear headlights, bumper forks, and American Racing alloys. So this total package delivers the vintage pieces you love on a first-year Tri-Five while also making sure it's one of the most unique Chevys anyone is ever going to lay eyes on.
Inside, the vibrant exterior blue returns on the door tops and dash. Now is now joined by a tasteful black for a well-coordinated and aggressive appearance. The interior was a big part of the restoration. In fact, there's a receipt for over $7,500 from Mcdonalds Autotrim. It includes the seats that look and feel supple while also given you bit of classic tuck-n-roll pattern. These match the door panels, carpeting, and headliner for a great uniform dark appearance. And while there are some nice upgrades, like power windows and provisions for R134a air conditioning that are designed to keep everyone comfortable, this is absolutely a driver's car at its heart. The dual cowl dash is fully done with a sporty machine-turned trim. Plus, it now contains a full AutoMeter gauge package. The Grant GT sports steering wheel is mounted on an Ididit tilt column, and that gives you a clear view to the large tachometer. That last upgrade also goes particularly well with the Hurst shifter.
You're going to love showing off the engine bay. The combination of the painted firewall and alloy inner fenders provides instant attraction to a very mean-looking V8. This big displacement 434 cubic-inch Motown block that has been enhanced and fortified with all the right components. It includes an Eagle forged rotating assembly, roller rockers, hydraulic cam, Canfield aluminum heads, Summit 680 four-barrel carburetor, an Edelbrock Performer EPS intake, MSD ignition, and headers that enhance the power as they feel the rumbling H-pipe dual exhaust. The full package was dyno'd at a whopping 552 horsepower! Making sure that you are in full control of this monster motor and its thunderous symphony is the four-speed manual transmission. Also, take some time to look at the undercarriage photos. There you'll see more great upgrades like the tubular A-arm independent front suspension with adjustable coilovers, traction bars in the rear, and disc brakes at all four wheels. It's easy to see that this is a nice performance machine, but there are also great everyday features here, too, like power steering. There's even a large Fluidyne aluminum radiator and 3.00 gears in the Ford 9-inch rear. It's all part of a package that makes it easy to drive this one in town of on the highway.
