1976 Chevrolet Camaro rally sport LT street strip prostreet
1976 Chevrolet Camaro Description
Where do I begin? This car has been in my life a while and it’s nuts I’m listing it. I painted this car for a friends wife 15+ years ago when I was low down and broke. Virtually homeless. I took the money and got back on my feet. The car is painted in ppg 2005 Acura sunset orange. Base is dbc, clear is global 2021. After I fixed up my life a bit, I was able to purchase the car 10 years later. I symbol of my journey of a car I loved, once it was mine I needed a little bit more that a vacuum secondary 454. The title was issued in 2015 when I took ownership. During this very short time it’s made a transformation into a badass 70s era street strip car that turns heads nomatter what your taste is. The body has never been cut except a 1/4 of rocker for 29” tire clearance. There is no cage. And of kept in this configuration should get one. The interior is very nice and complete except center console. As I said I needed more. It took me 2 years to build the motor. I will talk about the body first, engine and make a parts list. Body. 35000 mile original. I’d say rust free but there are a few bubbles starting in the typical quarter to rocker seam. The paint is 15 years old, but looks maybe 4-5 years old. The color is amazing in the sun. Car retains its a/c box, stock doors, and still has the speakers in it. The car body has the following mods. TRZ BILLET ANTI ROLL BAR, QA1 TUBULAR FRAME TIES, DETROIT SPEED SOLID BODY MOUNTS, CALVERT CALTRACKS COMPLETE SYSTEM, QA1 TUBULAR UPPER AND LOWER CONTROL ARMS, QA1 DOUBLE ADJUSTABLE FRONT SHOCKS. TCI OUTLAW SHIFTER, PAINLESS DRAGSTER SWITCH PANEL, MSD DIGITAL 7 IGNITION, AUTOMETER GAUGES TACH, FUEL, WATE, TRANS, VOLTS, 3 FUEL PRESSURES, INNOVATIVE O2 SENSOR GAUGE MONITORING SYSTEM. MOROSO LINE LOCK. REAREND IS A BUILT 10 BOLT. MOSHER BILLET SPOOL, 4.30 GEARS, YUKON CRUSH SLEEVE ELIMINATOR, COMP ENGINEERING C CLIP ELIMINATORS, BILLET YOLKS FRONT AND REAR WITH 1350 JOINTS. TRANSMISSION IS A BTE TURBO 400 built for a turbo car. The converter is a tci street fighter 3500 that’s more like a 2200 so I can drive it in the street. I have a 8” 5000 stahl that goes with the car for track time. Trans has an ultrabell and trans brake which has never been used yet. The car has a 1/4” aluminum midplate. THE ENGINE: Merlin cnc prepped billet cap race block. Bushed lifter bores. No filler. 4.625” bore short stroke 572. Weisco quick 16 pistons, total seal rings, Manley h beam rods with 2000 bolt upgrade. Callie’s dragon slayer 4.25” stroke crank, 14.5:1 compression. Iskey red lifters, schneider camshaft w/ .730 lift. (I’ll get specifics for buyer) Canfield pan, comp cams billet chain. Msd crank trigger with billet distributor. Brodix bb2x heads, mvls gaskets, arp studs throughout, severe duty valves, Manley springs, titanium retainers, comp magnum rockers and brodix girdle . Intake is port matched to the ported heads. Heads were suppose to be 360-80s, mine are 405. Electric water pump with restrictor to maintain a decent temp. Use your judgement. Don’t go for a cruise on a 100* day. Otherwise it stays at 190.The headers are custom made stainless with a 4” collector. They were $3800 themselves. Car will come with the quickfuel and braswell carbs. Braswell set up this carb for this motor but believe it’s still a little fat. The braswell is a massive carb and requires the adapter plate along with shear plate to reduce it down to a dominator 4500 flange. The fuel system is a sumped stock tank with magna fuel prostar 500 with -10 feed and -8 returns. The car ran its first pass at 10.52 full weigh, interior a/c box, and speakers still in i, foot braking to 1800, no trans brake, wrong converte, and 100* day. Very very minimal work with very very little dollars could put this car on a small diet will put this car into a 9 naturally aspirated. Some motor pics are different. Because I made upgrades and worked bugs out. Out of 3 years complete I’ve probably put 1 barrel of 112 through it. Feel free to ask questions. Car is obviously sold as is where is for the simple fact of being so radical. The car is violent. Bid with confidence because truthfully I don’t need to bs and I don’t want to sell. This is a last resort. No international sales or shipping. Buyer responsible for pickup. $500 due at auction end non refundable. Balance due in person in cash. More than happy to demonstrate a test drive weather permitting. Here is a video of a grudge race I won which was the only time it’s been down the track. I’ve had it on several ice cream trips and car Shows. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=m7qhuSZmhis If link doesn’t work YouTube search “matt luke bobby Hayes”When I fire it up, every head turns to see what the gates of hell just unleashed. Some will say it’s just a Camaro, some will see that there is $7k between headers and carb. Please bid accordingly. Thanks for your time.
