Americas Sports Car -Corvette has long had the nickname ‘America’s Sports Car’ and according to the annual Kogod Made in America Auto Index, it is also the ‘Most American’ made vehicle. With a top score of 83.5 points, Corvette earned bragging rights by racking up the points within seven criteria including profit margin; labor; research and development; inventory, capital and other expenses; engine; transmission; and body, chassis and electrical components. The research is conducted by the Center for Automotive Research to determine total domestic content.

Our story: My husband and I purchased this car on June 14, 2015 when this American classic joined our family collection ofbeloved classics including the 1964 Ford Falcon, 1964 Pontiac GTO, and our 1966 Chevy II. All of our cars were meticulousy maintained by my husband who, from the time he began to drive at age 16, owned over 100 classic cars. This car was never outside in the elements but to attend a few local car shows. The wax-on-wax-off method was always followed and my husband never washed this car with any kinds of soaps or detergents. It was always in a climate controlled storage unit during the winter months and garaged at our home in the spring and summer. As seen in the photos, this car was loved and is a stunning car.

This vehicle originally placed in service on March 14, 1968.

The 1968 Corvette cockpit was designed with the traveling duo in mind. Thin tapered and contoured buckets are very comfortably high-backed. Supple all-vinyl upholstery is standard, and there was an option to order genuine leather. Between the seats the center console houses the parking brake lever, gear shift, cigarette lighter and ashtray, thumb-wheel heater controls, air vent controls, and light monitoring system indicators. The console also stows seat belt buckle straps- twin sets with push button buckles.
Total Corvette's built in 1968 were 28,566. Of those, 9,936 were Coupes.
