Classic vintage LS LS1 swapped Chevy Chevelle fuel injected
1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS LS1 Description
A 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle hardtop with the right bold and bright Super Sport look is already an in-demand car. But the desire really goes to the next level when someone takes the time and investment in the upgraded suspension, overdrive transmission, and modern LS1 fuel-injected heart. Because now you have the iconic muscle car look you love, and some serious modern moves to back it up.
This coupe loves to make a great first impression. It was born one of the boldest colors around: Cranberry Red. And there has been a solid investment to give it a high-quality respray with a terrific clearcoat luster. And part of this extra sleek look is also thanks to making sure the panels are quite straight and uniform. Bright chrome bumpers and fresh trim complete a standout classic. Even the details are nice, like the headlight clarity and fresh weatherstripping. But you'll love this one for far more than its clean look. There is no buildsheet to confirm its Super Sport pedigree, but it does have all the right SS pieces you love. This includes the cowl hood, hood pins, full SS badging, and wide dual exhaust tips. Plus, the grille, rear panel, and proper racing stripes give this one a hint of blackout appeal. While this has a high degree of vintage style, you will notice one well-integrated upgrade. The American Racing Torq Thrust wheels have a polish that goes nicely with the brightwork, and at the same time, the larger 20-inch size means you can fit modern performance tires.
The black accents of the exterior get you ready for the all back interior. They were quite thoughtful in keeping this a very vintage-style atmosphere, right down to the correct pattern on the high-back bucket seats. And when it comes to upgrades, they are well-integrated. The AM/FM stereo and electric trunk release are hidden in the glovebox, and the handy oil pressure readout is cleanly tucked under the dash. The overdrive position on the classic horseshoe shifter is so well done that it looks like it came from the factory that way. In fact, the only real obvious upgrade is the grippy sports steering wheel on the tilt column. It's a great piece to make sure you take firm control while still getting a good view at the full round gauge package with large speedo and tach.
While the interior and exterior nicely mix vintage with the right modern features, under the hood, the upgraded nature really dominates. The fuel-injected 5.7-liter LS1 V8 was the motor to bring the Corvette into the modern age of performance, so it's even cooler to have it propelling this classic Chevelle. Plus, you have some great upgrades, like an LS6 intake, aluminum radiator w/dual electric fans, and Hooker headers feeing a rumbling Flowmaster dual exhaust. The 4L60E four-speed automatic transmission is what the Corvette used on this LS motor, and so it's the ideal upgrade to deliver both overdrive cruising and quick kick-downs to take advantage of the V8's power. More of this performance and comfort versatility comes from the upgraded rear end with reinforced arms and a Hotchkis sway bar. Power steering, power brakes, and front discs with drilled and slotted rotors round out this upgraded driving experience.
An awesome looking icon meets modern fuel-injected power. If you love driving your classics, this is the Chevelle you've been dreaming about. Don't miss you chance, call today!
