classic vintage chrome Boyd Coddington chevy Edelbrock restored
1979 Chevrolet El Camino Restomod Description
This 1979 Chevrolet El Camino Restomod is the kind of fully-coordinated package that was made to show off every inch (seriously, just look at the undercarriage photos.) So it's the kind of car specifically for people who love watching their vehicle draw people in from just a small passing glance. So if you like a ton of attention, and probably some awards, keep reading for all the details.
Sleekness is a central theme to this El Camino's exterior. Some of it is part of the custom work, like the shaved door handles. Other areas are elements that came from Chevy, like the rear lights integrated into the bumper that gives this such a smooth tailgate. That's what makes this the ideal starting point for a full custom build. Some parts of the restoration were about getting factory pieces looking their best - that's how you get mirror-like bumpers and trim. But there's also a ton of well-integrated attitude with the Boyd Coddington 17-inch wheels, hood pins, and the power bulge of the cowl hood. And it's all dipped in an awesome shade of green that looks so dark it could almost pass for black in some lights. But get this paint in the sunshine, and it loves to pop with a terrific gloss.
You'll attract attention just by opening the doors of this Chevy, because it is sporting remote poppers activated by a key fob. And because people will want to get a good look inside, this one continues to impress. While a factory car has plenty of plastics, they seem to cover nearly all of it in gray and green tweed. More of the thoughtful packaging is seen as the two colors are intertwined on the dash, door panels, and seats. In fact, speaking of the seats, they are a full custom addition with modern sport buckets. There are ton of terrific comfort upgrades, like a sunroof, R134a air conditioning (will need servicing), and an AM/FM/CD stereo with USB input to plug in your phone. There are plenty more sporty details with the custom steering wheel on a tilt column, full auxiliary gauge package (including tach) on the custom center console, and a B&M shifter. Don't forgot about the truck bed, because they didn't either! It's upholstered in the same detail-oriented tweed with green inserts as the interior to give this a wow factor you don't see in many other custom builds.
With all the custom details inside and out, you better believe the engine bay was done with an award-worthy style, too. The inner walls are smooth and finished in the exterior's green. So they funnel you attention to the shining motor in the middle. This is a 350 cubic-inch V8 upgraded with an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, an aluminum intake, and headers. The undercarriage photos not only show you how straight the exhaust pipes are, but also they let you see how everything is either dark green, bright white, or polished (right down to the springs!) If you do ever take this custom out on the open road, it has the right easy driving features, like a three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes w/discs up front.
You know this was a thoroughly detailed build, and the sale even comes with photos that document it. So if you're ready to own a next-level custom, don't let this Chevy slip away. Call now!
