1966 Chevy II Nova SS 118 Matching Numbers
1966 Chevrolet Nova Description
Clean Survivor 1966 Chevy II, a true 118 car on title, door jam and cowl tag. This 66 SS has all the original drive train still intact. Original “362” casting 327 block, with the ZA suffix. (Note: the 362 block was unique to Chevy II as they had a recessed oil filter housing for clearance for the 4 sp clutch pivot bar) Original “3890462” 202 heads. Original Muncie “3885010” 4 sp trans. Original 10 Bolt 308 Posi mono leaf rear. This car looks like it was “updated”( NOT restored) probably in the 80’s. It has had some modifications. Stud girdles on the heads, after market valve covers to accommodate the clearance, aluminum intake, Carter AFB Competition Series carb, Hooker Headers, MagnaFlow exhaust, Mallory Unilite coil and distributor, Hurst shifter and linkage, 6 qt pan. The body panels are straight and appear to be original. Rear qrtrs have the factory stamp on them. The floors are original and show absolutely No rust, No scale, No repair. About as clean as can be for an unrstored car. These unibody floors were Nova’s weak link. There are no worries with this one. Every panel under is original and never had rust. And no extra holes. This was a factory 4 sp car, so no “back yard mechanic” cut a jagged hole for a floor shifter. And of course since this was a True SS, there are the correct holes for the bucket seats, with the correct reinforcement brackets. The paint is nice driver, but not show quality. Clear Clean Washington title. This is a true 118 SS to take to the next level or enjoy as is and watch it increase in value. Tribute cars will never increase like the true SS cars.
