1968 Chevrolet Camaro Base
1968 Chevrolet Camaro Base Description
1968 Chevrolet Camaro Base. Well, I've had my fun and it's my time to start a new project. In 2016 I purchased this car. The House of Color Kandy Apple Red paint is original to when I purchased it. It is a real eye catcher, more than I could have imagined. The paint, while beautiful, has some defects, see photo descriptions below. Since I obtained the car I have only driven in good weather, cleaned with waterless wash, and only used a showcar glaze, as did the previous owner. I added Pro-Scat reclining bucket seats with headrests, 3-point seatbelts, and had the backseat reupholstered to match. I redid a large portion of the wiring while installing a single wire 100 amp alternator, a Vintage Air heat and air conditioning system, and Flex-a-Lite electric fan. Glad to be an electrician by trade. I also added disc brakes to the front with new booster and master cylinder, and new Bilstein gas shocks. Currently I'm finishing a new turn signal and horn circuit with a new relay. In addition, the floor was insulated and seams for previously installed new pans were re-sealed. That information and some pictures should give you a good overview. I have enjoyed my years with this car (my first car was a 1967 Camaro) but plan on going to a sportscar to really show the depth of my midlife crisis.
