1934 Chevrolet Original unrestored surviver Hot Rod, Gasser
1934 Chevrolet Master Description
1934 Chevrolet Original unrestored surviver Hot Rod, Gasser built in the 60s!
Chevrolet Master 2 door Sedan built into a Gasser/Hot Rod in the early 60’s. The car was stored in the 70s and did not see the light of day again until October 2017.
This car was featured in the 2019 spring edition of The Rodder’s Journal. Everything is originally as it was built with the exception of the battery, wheels, tires, a few brake and engine components (belt, hoses, and spark plugs)
In the early 60s when the car was built by Sonny Willett, he started by setting the firewall back about 3 inches to make room for the 394 ultra high compression Oldsmobile engine. The transmission is a Hydro-matic 4 speed auto.It has a late 50s Olds rear and Pontiac center section with custom link bars. It has an amazing set of original handmade fender well headers (surface rust butgreat condition) Solid lifter cam, dual point distributor, and two 4 barrels on an Edelbrock intake.
For suspension he installed a 1930 Ford straight axle set high for that gasser look. The brakes upfront are Cragar disk with Hurst Airheart 4 piston brake calipers (hi tech stuff for a 60s Hot Rod) To fit the larger rear wheels he cut/modified the rust free fenders and the leaded the shape back so to look original and uncut.
The car is rust free original 1934 steel! All of the wood is also rot free including the original wood floors!
The paint job is over 50 years old and where it shines there are many cracks and checks in the black lacquer paint.
This is an amazing original unrestored surviver Gasser/Hot Rod, that runs great!
