1964 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu SS Description

First buyer had medical issues and had to cancel sale.

Second buyer was just a no-show. Maybe the third time is a charm.

My daily driver for half a decade.It did good but not great in the snow so I went to a four wheel drive. It's been sitting a while and is now a project car. With A/C, power steering, and power brakes you can cruise in style anywhere. Humid summers be damned! No need to be bored stuck at home. Polish this diamond and have a beautiful toy and investment!

It NEEDS an interior and a MIG welder. Rust in the usual spots.* Was hit from behind and replaced the passenger quarter panel.

Originally white on white.

Missing:

·Original Engine and transmission

·Molding around the rear window

·Two hub caps

·Bezel around the shifter.

Includes:

·Stock exhaust manifolds and dual exhaust. (required for original A/C brackets)

·Three Koni adjustable shocks.

·Windshield (tinted) has just a few driving years on it.

·TCI TH350

• The original 3.36 positraction 10 bolt rear.
• 200-4R core if you'd like an overdrive auto without having to cut the driveshaft.

Does NOT include aftermarket gauges in one of pictures!

Option at extra cost:

1965 12 bolt 3.31 positraction rear andMoser axles (NIB). Axles were originally intended for a '67 rear I had, they will work in the '65 as well. The current axles served me well and have no need to be replaced.

*The rust in the trunk isn't bad. Surface rust for sure. No gaping holes that I recall. The seams appeared surprisingly good. The front passenger side is a Flintmobile. To err on the side of caution I would say you should expect to replace the entire floor pan. What shows on the bottom may not be what reality is after you remove the seats and carpet. Rust in the usual places for this model: fenders, doors, quarters. The passenger quarter panel should be decent as that was replaced 20 years ago.
The car was stripped, repaired and painted 25 years ago and has been outside for the past 20+ years so I'm sure there is rust hidden in places not shown in the pictures or in person. The good news is it pretty much only saw rain and not snow and salt. You should expect to be busy with a welder and patch panels. This is not a "Strip it, Bondo it, Shoot it." kind of project car. In no way, shape, or form is this a turn-key car.
When I was under the car a month ago the frame seemed solid to me.
The original engine and transmission are long gone. It had a replacement engine ('69 350) when I acquired the car.IF this website is correct, the engine was indeed a 327 as the V emblems do have the flags on them:
