1955 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 Description

There is a 5 inch stack of build receipts and specs. Body off frame restored. Born a real V-8 Bel Air, very desirable hardtop without the post. Same owner the 19 years. Original California car then Georgia car. I just drove this car for the weekend-outstanding! It performs so good. Starts and functions great. Cruises along so easy, smooth and comfortable. You mash the pedal and those 3 carbs open and the car is a monster. Monday I couldn't stop bragging about what a nice car this one is.
EXTERIOR: Super slick "hot red" paint. Really, this body and paint are outstanding. It is straight and fits nice. Everything shuts perfectly. That is one bright red on this car! It is polished out smooth and glossy. Every single piece of chrome and trim is gleaming. I circled around a 2nd time to verify but yes every piece of chrome looks new- bumpers, bezels, door handles, hood ornament, window frames, vent window pillars etc. The stainless trim is straight and polished like chrome. The side moldings, grill, window moldings etc. All the glass was replaced with smoked glass. New rubber gaskets, new window seals. Door jambs are slick like the exterior. Has new weatherstrips, latches and billet sill plates. Features include 1 piece California bumpers, rocker trim and fender shields, door handle guards, blue dot taillights and a 3rd brake light incorporated into the trunk emblem. They went old school with a new set of 15 inch SS Cragars. BFG tires, beefier in back.
INTERIOR: I'll tell you what I'm sitting in the car right now and it certainly looks brand new and man is it comfortable. Seat must have been rebuilt. Matching tweed throughout looks brand new. Custom molded door panels. Headliner has the Bel Air chrome ribs. Visors upholstered to match. The dash is painted a mirror finish black with all new Billet trim. Beautiful set of white gauges and a hot rod tachometer mounted to the column. There's a retro stereo with kick panel speakers, rear deck speakers and a CD changer in the trunk. Has new looking carpet with rubber mats. There are seat belts front and back. Really, everything looks new- mirror, heater controls, ignition bezel, custom pedals, handles, cranks etc. Has custom clock too. All new wiring.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Too cool, a 427 with Corvette tri-power! It was just completely rebuilt and balanced. Has L-88 Corvette cam, Eagle rods, forged pistons, roller timing chain. The block was honed, surfaced and bored to a 433. The Edelbrock aluminum heads were completely reworked, ported etc. Carbs are all dialed in and functional, even has a choke and the triangular Corvette style air cleaner. Has MSD ignition system. Front of the motor is real clean- has a Billet bracket going to the chrome alternator, aluminum water pump and pulleys. A polished, over sized BeCool aluminum radiator with an overflow bottle and twin electric fans make sure this big block stays cool. The compartment is all painted beautifully. Bottom of the hood and inner fenders are gloss red, firewall is gloss black. You will be displaying this hood open!
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Inside the trunk has upholstered side panels. The floor is custom carpeted and insulated. There is a full size spare, aluminum battery and a very soft custom fit car cover. The red paint under the trunk lid and the jamb is just as glossy as the outside. The latches have been detailed, new weatherstrip.
UNDERSIDE: Body was removed from the frame for a thorough restoration. The floors are so clean it is almost hard to believe. Smooth original floors and frame painted satin black. The front end suspension and steering is completely new. Upgraded with QA-1 adjustable gas shocks and a sway bar. Upgraded to disc brakes in front. Bottom of motor is spotless. Has over sized oil pan, custom dipstick, chrome flywheel cover and high torque starter. Has paperwork documentation for the TPI 700R-4 overdrive automatic transmission with 2,500 stall and external cooler. Custom Denny's driveshaft with solid universal u-joints leads back to a 4.11 posi. It is a complete Moser rear end package- entire center unit, bearings, 35 spline axles, Detroit Locker etc. Rear suspension is all new with 2 inch dropped springs and tubular control arms. Long tube headers connect to a Flowmaster exhaust system with crossover pipe. Everything is replaced: u-joints, e-brake cables, brake hoses and lines, fuel lines, electric fuel pump, fuel filter, body bushings, fuel tank, straps, insulators and sending unit etc. There is a remote battery shut off switch. The underside: is about as nice as you will find.
This is a desirable Bel Air hardtop. The quality really sets it apart but it's that slick bright red and gleaming chrome that will get you excited. A 427 tri-power under the hood ought to bring you to a climax! You cant overpay for this car. I have been around cars long enough to spot the exceptional ones-this is one of them.
