427 BIG BLOCK V8 5 SPEED TREMEC COLD A/C P/S P/B FRONT DISC AWESOME BUILD
1969 Chevrolet Camaro Description
This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro has been restored to be exceptionally awesome. That means a period-correct L72 427 big block, the added control of a five-speed, an upgraded A/C interior, and well-done full paint package. And while all that already makes it irresistible, there are also some extra cool details that you need to read on to discover.
Cortez Silver was a great color to have in 1969, and it only gets better on this coupe. This was given a full restoration only about 6k miles ago, and so this precious metal color has a true treasured shine. It also helps that the light rolls evenly around this car thanks to nice body lines. You can tell there was a solid investment in the bumpers, trim, and rockers to make sure the brightwork rivaled the paint for shine. It also has some nice performance touches, like the full-width rear spoiler and cowl hood with callout. Darker details like the front chin spoiler and blackout SS grille not only look good against the silver, but also they go nicely with the premium black vinyl roof. When we get to the details about the upgraded motor, you'll kind of get the feeling like you'd get from one of Yenko's COPO special order Camaros. And has extra context here, because the trim tag tells us this was originally a true special order car with special order paint!
The black accents of the exterior get you ready for the all black interior. The front seats are upgraded to new Procar high-back units to give you terrific bolstering, and there's a cup holder center console in-between. The carpeting, door panels, and dash also look nice to give you a fresh and dark interior. There are well-integrated comfort upgrades like the retro-style AM/FM digital tuner and R134a air conditioning. Plus, you have the best in driver-oriented features, like a wood-rimmed Chevy three-spoke sports steering wheel on a tilt column, Hurst shifter, and full gauge package with large speedo and tach supplements by SunPro readouts.
Under the hood is what the consignor is claiming to be a 1969 L72-spec 427 cubic-inch V8. We believe this to be true as it has the correct 3963512 casting on the rear of the block. That's the exact kind of block you found in the ultra-desirable Yenko COPO Camaros. So it's no wonder the engine bay is tidy and ready to show off. This one was a warranty block and an awesome rebuild fortified and enhanced with a steel crank, H-beam rods, forged pistons, roller rockers, solid lifters, and a Zeus high-rise intake. It inhales deeply with a Holley Performance four-barrel carburetor, and Hooker headers add to the power and the rumble as it exhales with authority from the three-inch dual exhaust. The big motor is supported by all the right components, including an MSD ignition and a large aluminum radiator w/electric fans. You'll love the full control you get over this mighty motor with the Tremec five-speed manual transmission with upgraded package including Hayes bellhousing with scatter shield. This sends the power to a heavy duty 10-bolt Positraction rear running Richmond 3.73 gears. As you look at the undercarriage photos, you'll be reminded of how clean the whole build is. Plus, you'll also spot a Hotchkis front sway bar, Hotchkis frame connectors, Lakewood traction bars, and new Bilstein shocks. Power steering, power brakes w/discs up front, and wide BF Goodrich T/As complete this full muscle car package.
