1939 Chevrolet Woody Station Wagon
First-year Chevrolet officially offered a wooden body on their regular passenger-car station wagons with only 989 JA-Master Deluxe Models produced. This vehicle has had a frame off restoration, restored back to its original condition. The exterior is painted in Wood Ash Brown which is the factory correct color and the only one offered on the Master Deluxe station wagons when new. The interior is finished in brown leather seating. The electrical system is still the original 6-volt system. The body was made by Campbell Mid-States Body Corporation which was one of three contracted manufacturers by Chevrolet for the construction of their wooden bodied vehicles. The floorboards are in great condition no repairs and no rust/rot. The engine is the original 216.5 cubic-inch overhead valve inline six-cylinder that produces 85 horsepower! Column shift, three-speed manual transmission with vacuum assistance. The car runs and drives great. All the lights and gauges work. No modifications. Overall, beautiful car inside and out.
