Up for sale is my 1966 Chevelle. Please read this add in it's entirety and hopefully most of your questions will be answered. I have owned this car for a little over a 19 month's and no I did not build it but I did make some changes to the car since I've owned it. It does have a unique history though. For thoseof you Chevelle fanatics you might know of the car. This is the Z06 66 Chevelle which was built by Roger Ausley Owner of Ausley's Chevelle parts and meticulously assembled by Doug Garrett. The story on the car is that it was believed to be a an original 12K mile car. After owning the car for a year and half I too believe it to be an original low mileage car. This is simply the nicest driving and performing Chevelle I have ever owned, you want to drive home no problem. I've put close to 2,000 miles on it since I've owned it. This is a well sorted out car that you can drive anywhere. It's tight and rattle free and smooth at 75 and make no mistake it runs. According to Doug Garrett when the car was finished it was then tuned and made over 500 H.P at the wheels. The pictures in the ad were all taken this past weekend except for the ones with the sun on it. So this is the way the car looks now not six months or a year ago. This was a high end body off restoration finished around eight years ago. The odometer now shows just over 21K. yes its been driven and still looks incredible
.PAINT AND BODY- The pictures will never do the paint and body on this car justice primarily because it's white. Base coat clear coat color sanded and buffed on an original rust free body is hard to improve upon. The body and paint are still near mint. There are no bubbles blisters door dings or significant chips. The restoration looks as though it could have been done last year. All the chrome trim is excellent much of it being NOS. The fit and finish is extremely nice
.DRIVETRAIN - Talk about Sleeper. This car is only as docile as you want it to be. The motor is a 2009 Z06 LS7 427Cubic Inch for translation. This is still a dry sump motor with the Oil tank disguised as the original battery. It has Street and Performance headers and wiring harness with a factory ECM. The engine is mated to a 6L80E Transmission which provides an excellent combination for driving and performance. The rear end is a Ford nine inch built by Spaker racing with 3.55 gear. If you decide to stab it when your rolling along 25-30MPH make sure your pointed where you want to go because it is going to go SIDEWAYS!! That's with 20X10"S on the back.
BRAKES AND SUSPENSION- These are some of the upgrades done since the car was originally built. The suspension is a complete Ridetech coil over kit. Tubular control arms front and rear, coil over's all the way around along with optional splined front sway bar. Yes it rides and handles awesome. Although it had four wheel disc brakes I change them out for the larger better performing Wilwood's with six piston in the front and four piston in the back with 13" and 12.75' rotors respectively. This all makes for a great combination of ride and handling
WHEELS AND TIRES - I also added these not cheap here either
Front 19x8" backspace 5.5" 235/40 Nitto Invo's With Blue lines from Diamond Back Classics
Rear 20x10" backspace 5.75 275/35 Nitto Invo's with Blue lines from Diamond Back Classics
I have also had some stainless exhaust work done along with cleaning up the cold air intake. All in all I have spent an additional 10K on the car since I bought it. Make no mistake there are a lot of Chevelles out there for sale. There are very few of this quality for the money. Needless to say you can't build it for that. please feel free to contact me for further details. Todd 81three three three5 49eight zero
