Very Slick Build! 350 Crate V8, Auto, PS/B w/ Front Disc, Tubbed, Great Paint!
1947 Chevrolet Other Pickups 5 Window Description
When you see a 1947 Chevrolet 3100 finished in an awesomely distinct triple-blue, you know it's time to take notice. And with a strong crate V8, upgraded suspension, desirable 5-window cab, and a custom leather interior, this is a low-mileage all-around stunner.
The paint is an instant standout. It takes an artful eye to mix three distinct shades of blue. It was done with care so that the natural lines of the truck were used as the divider. That's why the fenders have a deep metallic blue, and the main body and grille are done in a sunny-day sky blue. Then the darker blue returns on the cab's waistline with some bold pinstriping so that it can be a clear separation to the silvery blue on top. The consignor states that it took about a dozen coats of paint to get this look, and the way the full package radiates in the sunshine certainly shows its quality. Even the black is nicely coordinated on the bumpers, running boards, and truck bed. And speaking of the bed, those tubbed inner fenders, dual Optima red top batteries, and fuel cell are all there to announce this one is something special for far more than just the paintwork.
The interior continues the custom presentation. It's exceptionally well-coordinated with two of the exterior blues returning inside. We especially like the look of the two-tone custom leather seat. It has far better bolstering than anything from the 1940s, and the folding center section gives you a bucket-like level of individual comfort. There are other nice comfort upgrades like updated heat/defrost controls and a retro-style AM/FM digital tuner. Of course, what you'll really like is how this was built to be a driver's machine. You get a wood-rimmed sports steering wheel on a tilt column, Lokar floor shifter, auxiliary gauge trio, and a large AutoMeter speedo and tach directly in front of you.
Under the hood is a stout 350 cubic-inch crate V8. It has a nice look with the Edelbrock long air grabber and matching valve covers. A crate motor like this comes right out of the box with plenty of power, but this one has been upgraded further with a Holley four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock intake, and headers feeding a sweet-sounding set of side-exit pipes. It even has nice supporting pieces like steel braided lines with AN fittings and an aluminum radiator with electric fan. This powerful V8 connects to a stout TH400 three-speed automatic transmission on its way to an aluminum driveshaft that feeds the Ford rear end. And the four-link rear suspension with adjustable coilovers and wide Mickey Thompson Sportsman tires make sure there's plenty of rubber that stays planted to the road. And for those times when you just want to cruise this triple-tone truck, the power steering and power brakes with front discs make it easy.
With less than 400 miles on the build, this custom truck has been barely driven. So if you want a memorable machine that's ready to hit the streets right now, call today!!!
