'SQUARE BODY' CREW CAB
90k ORIGINAL MILES
ARIZONA TRUCK
SERVICE BED W/SHELL
Meet "Clarence"
Here is a very special truck. This 1985 Chevrolet C30 3+3, 4X4 was owned by my brother in law who sadly, has recently passed. This was his 'ultimate off-road toy' that he purchased from the original owner back in 1993. He lifted it, added a full overhead rack with lighting, a cool stereo (at the time), a dual battery setup and installed a shell w/locking rear doors over the service body on the back. He enjoyed this truck so much, he gave it a name, 'Clarence'. Now, Clarence has not moved since 2015 shortly after it passed it's last emissions test so it currently is not running but it ran excellent prior to being sidelined, I have personally driven this truck just prior to it being parked. It will need to be trailered to it's new home where I can pretty much guarantee with some fresh fuel, a carb service and possibly a fuel pump, Clarence will be ready for action. I have put a good battery in it and the engine cranks over with no issues, turns over as it should. Stacks of service records are included from the time it has been in the family, there are a couple of photos of these receipts at the bottom of the ad, you will get the entire folder. The truck is fairly straight aside from a dent in the rear left door and while it is faded, it has some really cool 'patina'. You can see some damage on top of the shell as well, small tree height 'misjudgment'on that one. While you will see some spots that look 'brown', this is an Arizona truck that is solid with no rust issues. Glass is good including a newer windshield, sides have a light tint that is faded, good glass though. Tires are old and dry but hold air. All keys are included, tool box keys, camper keys and original truck keys. This truck is being sold as is, what you see is what you get, there will be absolutely NO negative feedback tolerated. If you have a question, call me PRIOR to bidding. Inspections are no problem either. Please check out the 60 full sized photos below and get to know Clarence. I have included a picture of the title from 1993 when it was bought. The owner wrote a little story about Clarence back in 1999, I have inserted a photo of his original write-up in the ad and to make it easier to read, I retyped his story just below the photo of it. 'Square body' Chevy and GMC trucks are getting very popular and becoming hard to find with low original miles and with no rust issues. Do not miss this one, these 4x4 crew cabs are selling into the low $20,000 range and beyond, none that come with such personal attachment and are this cool though! This truck has some serious potential to be a real thing of beauty but if you don't want a $50k show-truck, just drive it and enjoy it as a solid off-road 'bug-out' type of vehicle! The family has decided that Clarence needs a new, loving home, so bid to win, this is a seven day auction opening at just $99.00 with absolutely NO RESERVE! Please call me at (602)315-4055 with any questions. Thank you for looking, GET YOUR BIDS IN!
CLARENCE
Hi, my name is Clarence. That wasn't always my name but it is now. I like it!
I was made at a plant back east just like ordinary trucks. From the beginning though, I knew I was different. I just sort stood out in the crowd on the lot. I was picked to get a really neat body with tool boxes and stuff. I started out my professional life working full time like most other trucks but I did such a good job I was allowed an early retirement.
That is when I was selected by my current family, the Partons. They are the ones who named me 'Clarence'. From the beginning, they treated me special. I no longer have to go to work every day. I just sit around and wait til they want to go play.
I've developed quite a personality as well as a reputation. I have interesting hobbies now. Mostly I like travelling, mountain climbing, shooting, camping, towing shiny sport utility vehicles, (especially Jeeps) and just going out for a little fun. Picnics are especially nice. Cook outs are fun, I stay ready so when my people are in the mood we just take off!
I have posi-traction both front and rear with a good 4 speed transmission and low gearing. I can go where many of those shiny sissy "SUVs" can't. I can take the whole family and all of their stuff.
Pardon my scars and bruises. I am sometimes called on to go where others can't and I get a little banged up. I'm OK though.
Take a look at my new shoes! I was having a little problem in that area because my people always bought me those fat show off 4x4 type tires but now I have truck tires like I am supposed to. I'll never suffer the indignity of another flat.
It's good to see you, I hope we'll meet out in the boonies sometime.
Happy trails!
CLARENCE
