1986 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Super Sport SS, new 350, EFI, stock appearance
1986 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Description
This car has a lot of upgrades done to it so that retain its stock looking appearance, but has many of today’s modern amenities. The original paint is in good (maybe very good?) condition and the original gray interior is excellent with no rips or tears in the upholstery or dash. The frame and underside of the car are all solid. One neat thing about this car is the original documentation that will come with it - receipts and information fromt he first gentleman who bought this car back on 1/20/1986. The old engine had only about 73,000 original miles on it, but wasn’t sealing correctly so rather than a rebuild, I opted for a new GM350 cubic inch crate engine that was dropped in and mated with Edelbrock’s Pro Flow 3MultiPort EFI system for fuel delivery. The new engine still has less than 1,500 miles on it. The EFI system can be tuned very easily via wireless technology with the download of an app to your phone or tablet. The EFI upgrade also necessitated an upgrade to the fuel system with a Tanks, Inc. EFI ready fuel tank. These tanks are made of galvanized steel and powder coated silver, and has a Walbro in-tank fuel pump. The fuel lines are PTFE lined (Teflon) to handle the pressure from the EFI system and to prevent deterioration from today’s ethanol gas. The exhaust flows thru Edelbrock TES headers that have been ceramic coated by a local shop; continues through a high flow catalytic converter with 2.5” exhaust and Flowmaster Delta Flow 50 mufflers. The engine bay has also been updated with a new Sanden A/C compressor (the A/C works), Dakota Digital cruise control unit, which works, and a Spectre dual snorkel cold air induction air cleaner. The original 200-4r automatic transmission was upgraded with a shift kit for nicecrisp shifting. With the upgrades to the power, the brakes were upgraded as well. The front discs were upgraded from the single piston to a dual piston setup (Blazer upgrade) with a thicker rotor and larger diameter thatstill fits inside the stock wheel. The rear brakes were upgraded from the old drumsto a Scarebird Classic Brakes setup that runs disc brakes there too. A new proportioning valve was added to accommodate the rear discs. All work was professionally done by a local shop (One Off Rod andCustom) that has won multiple awards, been published in the top leading hot rod magazines, been filmed on Power Nation, and has brought home the prestigious Ridler Great 8 Finalist Award. An approximately 1” stack of receipts for all work done will come with the car as well as all the original documentation from the first owner. The car has an aftermarket radio that was previously installed in the vehicle, although I don’t have the original engine or original radio. The car has a clean title. All power options, switches, and gauges seem to work in the car with the exception of the heat. If you turn on the vent and turn the temperature up tho you get warm air. The remote trunk access located in the glove box also does not work. I'm selling this car as I got a new job and am moving in with my girlfriend from a house into an apartment near where we'll both be working, and I have nowhere to store it and I've been so busy with my new job I haven't had the opportunity to drive it. There's around $30K in this car, and you couldn't build this car for what the reserve is. Please ask any questions before making a bid or purchasing. Buyer will be responsible for shipping, and a non-refundable deposit of $500 will be due within 48 hours. I can send more detailed pics of anything you want to see, so please ask.
