1941 Chevrolet 4100 series conventional Description
Hello, I'm selling this truck for my friend who does not have internet. I will be able to answer any of your questions you may have. To start off with, I only wish I could buy it for myself, because it is a Very Cool truck! It has Patina, Character, Rat Rod appeal. Car Show Hauling, Drag Racing, etc... I have been around this truck for a long time now and know it pretty well. I have seen it start right up on super cold 15- 20 degree below zero mornings without hesitation. Dependability is very good, but I would mention this is a piece of heavy equipment, and they do require more maintenance than a pick up truck. The engine is a rebuilt 70's 305 c.i. small block Chevy V8, with rebuilt 80's 350 c.i. heads, Edelbrock carb on a cast iron manifold. It runs very well and has good power. The truck will easily carry 5,000 lbs. + more. I have seen it haul an extended Dodge van that weighed well over 6 thousand. I personally picked up the rebuilt over-sized stock style/ type radiator he had built for this, and it runs very cool. The king pins have been replaced within the last 1.000 miles, and the truck drives and steers beautifully down the road- w/ wo a load at roughly 65 to 70 miles an hour The transmission is a 4 speed,( with a cool chrome skull shift knob) and has a Forward and Reverse PTO ( which enables the roll back- forward hydraulics, switched with a set of hand controls at the side of the truck bed). The truck also has a 60's 2 speed air shifted 2-1/2 ton rear end. It was originally equipped with a 1-1/2 ton rear.( for those unfamiliar, it is basically like having an overdrive in all 4 gears) This rear end has also been gone through and he got rid of the 20 inch tires for 17 inch, which lowered the ride height of the load, and enabled the use of the roll back operation, which in 99% of situations eliminates the need for any ramps, and the 17 inch are cheaper to buy than the 20 inch tires. The roll back bed is made out of a Ford F350 frame and works very well. It has hydraulic roll back, and forward, with an electric 12,000 lb. winch for pulling the vehicle onto the bed. The bed is oak floor in steel framing, and is designed to be easily replaced when necessary- Board by board if you want save money, and who doesn't. The bed also has integral strap ratchets for tie down- and straps are included. The truck also has air, to operate the rear end, but has an incredible air horn, and other functions. Fully converted to 12 volt electrics, Two new batteries, it has a new alternator, it has flood lights in the front, work/ loading lights in the back, a dome type flashing yellow caution light + running lights on the cab roof. Full gauge instruments in dash, including a Sun Super II tach, and I believe Stewart Warner oil, etc..Stock Speedometer works accurately. A fairly expensive heavy chromed brush guard on the front that looks like it was made for this truck. Modern style turn signals have been added for safety of course. The body on this unit is extremely straight. There is only one dent in the whole cab, at the upper driver side back corner, and it can be pounded out relatively easy, by removal of the headliner. there was minor rust repair on the doors, a welded job done very well. There is some surface rust ( I stress surface only ) at the floor edge next to the doors that will need to be removed at time the new owner paints it. The floors were also weld repaired. The heavy fenders have been reinforced, and are as sturdy as tank armor. There are no holes or rust through anywhere ( the floors are solid), and the doors close incredibly straight for a truck this age. The roll out windshield works, and the original heater/ defroster has been reconditioned and blows probably better than it did brand new. It has bucket seats from a Saturn, and they fit the small cab of this truck great. They need recovered, ( just soiled, no holes) but they are very comfortable, and I think they are a very good choice. The back glass has a crack in it that occurred right after installation. It is flat and relatively inexpensive to replace. Tires are about 65 to 75% tread. They still have a lot of miles left, and they are well balanced, which helps ride and wear. Really, the mechanics of this truck are sound, built buy an old school true Mechanic/ fabricator--designed to work! This truck is still in project mode only because it needs finished out with a little body and paint work to be the envy car hauler at the car show, or drag strip! People stop their journey to take photos of this truck just looking as it does ! I can only imagine the attention it will get once it has a good looking paint job! This truck is ready to work and would be able able to drive anywhere, but I don't recommend a long journey in it, only because it would be a bit slow at 65. It has 2 fuel tanks, with a valve system to switch tanks. This truck will require an open trailer to ship it, but from recent car freight experience, it won't be that expensive to just about anywhere from Colorado, since we are pretty centrally located. Freight and shipping arrangements are the buyers responsibility, although we can assist in loading only. Please do not bid on this truck if you do not intend to buy it. If you have less than 10 positive feedback, then contact me Before you bid! This truck is sold as is, where it sits, with no Warranties, promises, or other bull. A 500 dollar deposit through Pay-pal at time of sale/ auction end is required, and the balance in a cashier type bank check must be received within one week from date of sale in certified / registered type mail. I'm sure there are other features I missed mentioning, but I have tried to cover all of the flaws as best I can. Please message me with any questions you might have, and I will answer them as quickly as possible. If you are a Serious buyer, can put you in touch with the owner by phone, and you can speak direct. The reserve is very low for the value, so don't bother asking what the reserve is, just bid what you feel comfortable with- you wont be disappointed. Thank you for looking at this very uniqu, and cool truck!

This works just fine, It is a one to one ratio in 4 gear, which means at 3500 rpm, you are traveling at 70 mph, just like in my old Chevy pick-up. The instrument cluster is all in the dash, and all the gauges work. Just no speedometer.

There wasn't room for all the photos I took, so if there is something in particular you would like shots of, let me know what it is, and an e-mail address, and I'll try and send you some.
