A little history on the car… It has 6688 original miles on it. My dad special ordered this car in upstate NY back in 1977. He took delivery in 1978 and sold the car 2 years later with 260 miles on it. I located the car in FL in 2014 with 6400 miles on it and I am now the 5th owner.
This car is a survivor and is pretty much all original. I put new reproduction factory style Good Year GT Radial tires on it in 2014 that cost over $1600 and a new Delco battery in 2015. I do not have the original tires or battery. Everything else on the car, aside from the oil filter, is the way it came from the factory. The oil filter is the same type that came on the car new and I have several of them NOS. It was ordered with most available options… the L82, auto, PW, PL, a/c, sport mirrors, cruise, tilt/tele, 8 track stereo, rear speakers, power antenna, rear defrost, Gymkhana suspension, 255/60 tires, aluminum wheels, convenience package, leather interior, and Silver Anniversary paint. Everything works like it should except the washer pump. The a/c blows cold but not as cold as it should and could probably use a charge. The 3rd owner had the clock rebuilt and I had the power antenna rebuilt. Most of these cars came with black or oyster colored interior. This was ordered with mahogany. C3 Registry shows this as being 1 of 1 cars with this color combination and these exact options but not sure how accurate that is.
Last year I had the car judged by the local NCRS chapter and it took home a Top Flight ribbon. All numbers match as they should. The belts, hoses, wipers, air filter, and anything else you can think of are original to the car. I’m confident it could be driven anywhere if the belts were changed. All fluids have been maintained. I usually drive the car at least once a month (except winter months) to get everything moving and lubricated.
The car is in pretty good condition considering its age but it is not perfect. There’s a few small chips in the paint that have been touched up but the car still presents very well. The interior is impeccable. The underside of the car is solid and still has all its original factory markings and tags. There is some surface rust on parts that weren’t painted from the factory, i.e. exhaust pipes and springs. The engine compartment is very clean. The car has never been wrecked or smoked in. It has always been garage kept and adult owned by Corvette enthusiasts. I have contact info for all previous owners and all the original documentation from when my dad bought the car new, like the dealer paperwork and window sticker. Build sheet is still on the tank. Everything will go with the car including the NCRS paperwork and judging manual. This is a show car that would be a great car for anyone’s collection or just drive it as is.
