Classic vintage Chevy Bel Air big block 396
1969 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 Description
We could just say it's terrific to find a survivor-grade 1969 Chevrolet Bel Air with tis factory paint and interior. But in reality, this is something far more awesome. It's from the era of big power bow ties, and this one goes for the sleeper street machine style with big block power and a Rock Crusher four-on-the-floor.
The Bel Air is a storied name, and in 1969 its role was moved to the base-level Chevys. That's actually a good thing here. It means a stronger pillared two-door body, and it's free from extra weighty ornamentation. So it makes for the right base to have a true street machine. In fact, Chevy would let some of these big block sleepers out to dealers, and that's how we got some awesome Baldwin-Motion cars. While this has a factory appearance, the '69 cars came right from the Chevy with intimidation in the design. It has a long and wide style led off by an aggressive look with the lights recessed into the grille. This one love to show off its stock style, right down to the color-matched wheels with dog dish hub caps. In fact, this one is such a true representation of its era that the Glacier Blue paint is mostly factory original. Between the factory finish, exceptional panels, and complete trim, this one is a true stunner for its preserved authenticity. So you're going to find plenty of people impressed with the condition of the car even before they know what's under the hood (more on that in a moment.)
The interior continues the exceptional level of preservation. All the fundamentals are believed to be original, right down to the trim on the textured seatbacks. As a full-sized Chevy, there's plenty of room for family and friends to spread out over the two wide rows of bench seats. But a car like this was built to be less of a commuter and more of a street brawler. Even the additions are era correct performance pieces, like the curved Muncie shifter, Stewart Warner auxiliary gauges, and a Sun Super Tach mounted on the steering column.
Under the hood is awesome big block power. This is a 396 cubic-inch V8 topped with an aluminum intake and Holley four-barrel carburetor. It all looks quite nice in a well-maintained engine bay that includes newer hoses and an HEI ignition. And as you look underneath, you see more investments, including fresher suspension components, a thick front sway bar, and a newer stainless dual exhaust. This big block fires up readily, and it loves to roar as you row through the stout Muncie M22 close-ratio four-speed manual transmission. While it's absolutely powerful, this one also likes to be easy to control. That's why you have power steering, power brakes, and upgraded front discs.
The interior and exterior give you a cool classic style, and the engine bay is an awesome big block brawler. You know how special this one is, and so you know you can't let it slip away. Call today!!!
