1974 Chevrolet Corvette Description

Up for your consideration is my 1974 Corvette, 454, 4-speed, restomod coupe. The car is fully sorted out and I have owned it for 10+ years. I set out to find a low mileage big block 4-speed Corvette that I could make into a SoCal canyon terror. This car has surpassed by expectations. If you are looking at this ad then you already know that big block four-speed Vettes are rare and that being said if you are searching for a NCRS Corvette that has been restored and displayed like piece of artwork never to be driventhis is not the car for you. This carwas built to be enjoyed... Every time I drive this beast it leaves a smile on my face unlike any car I have ever had. The brutal power and speed that this car can achieve on twisty canyons is just stunning. The sound that rips through the sidepipes at wide open throttle will leave chills down your spine and I actually had passengers tell me that their legs were shaking after they got out from the adrenaline rush. If this is still what you are looking for in a Vette then read on.

Let’s start with the most important first… the engine.

Numbers matching big block:

Bored .30 over.

Deck shaved to increase compression ratio.

Roller rockers,

High flow fuel pump.

MSD Ignition.

Performance head work.

MSD billet distributor.

Forged pistons.

High performance cam.

Edelbrock Torker II Intake.

Weber/Carter Competition carb.

Full length headers. (Jet-Hot ceramic coated)

High performance clutch.

Be Cool high performance aluminum radiator.

Estimated horsepower is 450-500 (which is close to factory L-88 ratings)

VIN number is: 1Z37Z4S414377

The bodywork is in excellent condition and had it a complete repaint about 10 years ago because the original lacquer paint was starting to show its age. I have added a L-88 hood and a updated rear bumper because I prefer the look of it. I have also added a NOS vintage Lemans front spoiler as it fit the period correct look I was going for. The only real paint issue is a small scratch inside of the drivers side headlight opening which was created from a misaligned headlight cover. This could be easily fixed but I never really bothered me and you don’t notice it unless you really look. The brakes have been completely overhauled with high performance crossed drilled and slotted rotors installed, and the suspension was updated.

The car has been fitted with 18 inch Boss 338 wheels with a natural grey finish to keep with with vintage theme. Tires are Continental Extreme Contact tires (275 rear and 255 front) and are in near new condition. The stance on the car with this tire combination is perfect and it greatly increases the overall ride and handling. I actually liked it so much I had the same wheels and tires installed on my other C3 Corvette that I had built for my wife.

The interior is in excellent condition, the seat leather is soft and shows a patina that is consistent with a car that has been taken excellent care of. Lexol leather cleaner and conditioner was used on the seats each time the car was fully detailed – which was once a month. It has been fitted with an aftermarket mahagony steering wheel because I found it much more comfortable to drive with and the original steering wheel is included with the sale. The carpet, door panels, dash and all other interior trim are in excellent condition from proper storage of the car. I only drove this Vette on dry sunny days and I has been kept covered and inside at all times.

I have documentation that traces back to the original owner including the original window sticker and even the original paperwork for the first insurance in 1974. Currently the car has just 46,500 miles on it I put about 1000 miles a year on the car over the past 10 years and it has proven to be bulletproof. I have taken in on numerous rallys and car shows all over Southern California. It always draws a crowd.

Some important notes:

Test drives will be done at my discretion. – Absolutely no test pilots.
