1985 Chevrolet Blazer CUCV M1009 Military Blazer Description

This is a SWEET truck...I looked for a VERY long time before I found one in this excellent condition. I've also put a lot of time and effort into making it an awesome tactical truck.
This CUCV has a 6.5L Turbo Diesel engine from a '93 Chevy Suburban which only has about 10,000 miles on it. Most CUCV's do NOT have air conditioning capability...this one does. I did have the A/C working before, ut it needs a new compressor right now. All the correct A/C controls are present in the dash. Has AM/FM stereo and cassette player also.
It runs great and has a lot better acceleration and top speed than the M1008 pickup version of the CUCV.
I've installed original, S military (USGI) radio mounting plates for you to mount an RT-524, T-246, RC-53 or VRC-64...along with the companion R-442 receiver. I can supply a complete R-442 and VRC-64 set, ncluding mounting trays, ll in working condition for an additional $1900 if you buy the truck. This would include the military AS-1729 antenna matching unit and antenna which are currently installed and working correctly.
In order to install the mounting racks, had to remove the rear passenger right side arm rest. I still have it and it will be included with the vehicle.
It also has a US military issue Shakespeare wideband VHF antenna which is suitable for 2m ham band operation and has an Icom IC-2000 2m radio installed as well. I will include those for an additional $700 if you purchase the vehicle. The antenna is VERY hard to find and was very expensive when I did finally find one for sale. If you don't want it, hat's fine. I'll keep it and install it on my truck, o problem. :)
Has dual M16 rifle mounts behind driver's seat.
Has full size spare tire.
Two of the tires are new.
Has 5 gallon spare fuel can and mount (both USGI) inside cargo area. I think there is also a mount for a chemical agent detector (NOT INCLUDED) in the cargo area, ut cannot confirm that 100%...
This CUCV has its original CARC, oodland camo paint which is a bit faded, ut still has that genuine military look...unlike some other M1009 ones I've seen on here that look like a three-year-old painted it. And it hasn't been painted "white" or "tan" or "OD green" like so many others you see on ebay...this one has its genuine, SMC camo on it still.
This vehicle was previously in service at the El Toro Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) in California, o the undercarriage is in great condition (no salt rust, tc.).
The bridge plate is present and serviceable. Blackout light switches are present and work correctly.
Has lockout hubs for 4WD.
It has a clear title and is currently registered as a former military vehicle (using its USMC registration number instead of a license plate) which exempts it from vehicle inspections. It can be registered as a regular truck or car, epending on your state and how you want to register it. I found it was cheaper to register it as a truck due to the payload, ut it is currently registered as a former military vehicle at about $70 for five years.
I've installed a high-quality, eavy duty battery disconnect switch to help prevent battery drain while not in use.
It has a Federal Signal siren installed (and working) -- you will need to obtain a speaker to use with it, ut the wire has been run through the firewall already, o should be an easy install. Siren has wail, elp, adio repeat, nd PA.
It is wired to accept a winch already through the slave receptacle location in the grill (not included).
Here's what I know it needs (READ CAREFULLY SO YOU WILL BE FULLY INFORMED):
New left side window regulator (manual)...it works, ut takes some effort to roll up/down.
Windshield is cracked (vertical on passenger side), ut serviceable
A/C compressor needs replacement and system serviced
Passenger seat bracket is loose or broken...it does latch securely to the floor. It's not really a problem because the radio racks keep the seat back from moving farther back than it should, o it is stable that way.
Everything else is in great shape and no other major defects. In fact, u>the engine is exactly the same type as used in the current issue US military HMMWV ("HumVee")...your common, veryday CUCV M1009 (i.e. all the other ones on ebay) has a 6.2L normally (military refers to it as "naturally") aspirated Diesel...not the ***6.5L turbo*** like mine has. REMEMBER -- This truck has an ALMOST NEW 1993 Chevy Suburban 6.5L TURBO DIESEL and has some serious torque...It would very easily haul a trailer. Highway speeds are NOT a problem for this CUCV, nlike the M1008 and other models.
Buyer is responsible for picking up or shipping the vehicle to your location -- that is not included in the bid price and will be the buyer's sole responsibility. I bought this vehicle and drove it from California halfway across the country with no problems whatsoever. It is a good, eliable vehicle.
There are no warranties expressed or implied with this vehicle. Buyer is responsible for inspecting vehicle at his own expense prior to bidding. Placing a bid or buy-it-now commitment constitutes acceptance of this vehicle AS-IS, HERE IS. I will do everything possible to make reasonable accommodation for buyer to inspect the vehicle prior to bidding.

Mileage is 61,611 actual miles on the entire vehicle. Engine has approximately 10,000 miles on it. That should clarify it...there was a typo before, ut the truck's actual mileage is 61,611. They just drove it around the air station, o not many miles in it.
