1960 Chevrolet Impala NUMBERS MATCHING 348 Tasco Turquoise very solid 60 Chevy
1960 Chevrolet Impala Bubbletop Description
Up for auction is our 1960 Impala 2-door Hardtop with its stunning original colors as Tasco Turquoise and Ermine White. This car is equipped with its original numbers matching 348 big block and automatic transmission. It has power steering and power brakes. Other options include front and rear bumper guards, padded dash, radio, full wheel covers, dual exhaust, and many other features that came standard on the “top of the line” Impala model. Although this car needs the obvious, paint/body work and some interior work. It is a very original and complete car. Many of these cars do not retain their original power train and have been made into 348 Big Block cars. It was sold new here in Colorado at Hottman Chevrolet in Brighton. It has remained in Colorado its entire life and this would be why its nearly rust free. Around the rear wheels there is some light rust coming through otherwise, the rest of the car is very solid. Under the doors, trunk lid, rocker panels (inner and outer), front fenders, trunk floor and main floors are all exceptionally nice and solid. The only metal work this car needs is the rear wheel lips. All of the chrome plating is original and presentable, especially the pot metal vent window frames and emblems are perfect and not pitted. All of the stainless trim is nice and straight. The anodized aluminum pieces are also good, especially the grill. On a 60’ none of this is reproduced, so its crucial these trim pieces are there and in good condition and this car has it all. All of the glass on this car is super nice and has no cracks. All five of the original Kelsey-Hays wheels are still on the car and the original spare tire (and jack) is in the trunk and almost perfect. The four hubcaps are original and very nice. The interior is original and complete. A full interior kit for this car is available and not overly expensive. All of the gauges, radio, lights, turn signals, and locks work. It even retains its original keys with their knock-outs. Included with the car is a roll of new hound’s tooth material for the seats. The rear door panels are still very nice and could be used. The front door panels are in the trunk. The dash trim, chrome bezels and anodized trim for the interior is all very nice. The steering wheel is original and not split. Under the hood is pretty much done! It’s the original CG code 348. It runs strong and needs nothing. It does not leak, make any odd noises, smoke, or rattle. It’s a very solid engine and has been detailed. It has its correct style 4 barrel carburetor and air cleaner. Transmission works great and also does not leak. The firewall is all original and shows well. The power steering and power brakes function perfectly. The fuel system is all new including the tank, fuel lines and fuel pump. I would have to say the engine compartment is ready to go! The undercarriage is very clean and impressive. It was undercoated at the dealer when it was new. It has held up well and looks nice. There is no rust on the frame or suspension components. Everything is very original and well kept. Also included with the car is a book with old maintenance receipts, mileage statements stating the car has around 61,000 miles, spec sheets for 1960 Chevrolets and the owner’s manual.
