1969 Chevrolet C20, CST, Custom Camper, 350, TH400
1969 Chevrolet C-10 C-20, CST, Custom Camper Description
1969 Chevy C20, 62k original miles (I will drive it around town so it will have 62,xxx) on the 350 v8 and TH400 automatic, no rocker panel or cab corner rust, mint interior and patina'ed exterior. Maintenance records going back to mid 80's. Original wood bed in great condition. Factory / dealer installed saddle tanks. Original dealer Protect O Plate, warranty docs and build sheet found in the springs under the seat. I removed the interior to check for IBM bonds (just in case) and to verify condition of the floor. Rebuilt numbers matching quad jet, runs a bit rich for 4,400 feet and HEI distributor with originals in a box. Rear coil rear-end, number of original radios included and some other odds and ends. Dash has no cracks and carpet is in good condition, I did not remove the seat cover as I still use the vehicle but no signs of rips. Steering wheel has thin cover and wheel plastic is cracked around the edges. Embossed door panels and headliner are in great condition. Lower metal door panels where cut for speakers. Comes with both sets of mirrors and white camper shell to protect the bed and extras.
I believe I am the 4th or 5th owner, built February 27, 1969 in Fremont California and originally sold out of Englewood Colorado at Burt Chevrolet (sticker still visible on tailgate), Sold in September 1986 with 48,506 miles, record book of maintenance runs through April of 2006 with the last entry being 58,885 miles.
As mentioned it has 1/4" or less size rust hole behind passenger rear wheel well, small dent in the tailgate and scuff on the drivers side rear quarter. All other panels are clean. Minor cracking on grill plastic and wear and tear on molding. Wheels are 16" with clean and 90% straight hubcaps. They are 5-10 footers with some minor overspray / masking marks. Tires have very few miles on them. Bought a new roll of wood trim tape but have not installed it.
Clean classic that is unmolested and will continue to appreciate in value. Drives great with 4.10+ rear end. Engine runs smooth, easy start and transmission shifts good. Heater and controls all work well, some heater motor squeal on initial run as I do not drive it often. Love driving it around town but I need to make room for other collections.
Vehicle is 47 years old, very good condition for the age, well equipped for the time, with a near new original interior. Old classic grandpa truck smell thrown in for free.
