1970 Chevrolet Chevelle Description
here is an original 40.5k mile ss 396 350 horse chevelle, auto, bench seat, in the seldom seen misty turquoise. car is in beautiful shape paint is original except for trunk li, and a blend on driversside that was done very early on,this car does have some "patina" but not much.here we go,there is probably 10 or so door dings total a small ding in the passenger side rocker and a ding on top of the drivers quarter, stripes on hood are thin and ive tried to show some road rash in various areas, vinyl top is nice but the lowerright corner is starting to lift, it hasn't changed since ive owned it, [15 plus years]and there is no crunchy b.s. underneath.bottom isvery nice aswell has what I would call flash corrosion in a few spotsbut has never even been detailed.i am making this sound a lot worse than it is but I don't want anyone "surprised".this car still has tons of eyeball, and has really stood the test of time well.interior is original except vintage alpine stereo radio [no cutting].weatherstrips are original and in fantastic shape ifyou look at the photo of the trunk strip the inspection crayon marks are still visible and these haven't been redone.trunk is original down to the original spatter paint, with jack and the original plastic jack cover.glass is excellent with a small delamination on the windshield wich hasn't changed since ive owned it.under hood is unmolested as well meaning theres been no ham fisted jack ass under anything with a rattle can of krylon.this thing still has the factory water hoses on it and I just replaced what was most of the original exhaust 2 years ago. also has new tires shocks and alignment.recently made a 200 mile trip home from storage at the cabin, car runs great!!!.have p.o.p., build sheet and invoice, regarding numbers, the car has an h.e.i. distributor, and a factory replacement q-jet carb, this came with 331 gears, over the years these were changed a few timesand now has 308s for diveability, to the best of my knowledge everything else is original to this car. I have also spoken with the original owner, and know most of this cars fairly interesting history, wich I will be happy to share with you over the phone.i bought this car in 2000 with 32k miles on it, last HONEST appraisal in 2006 for $50k.nada says an excellent one is just south of $60k right now and in MY opinionthis car is all of excellent as far as a mostlyoriginal 46 year old car goes.i don't expect to get that kind of money but this is not a distress sale and I wont give it away as I know I more than likely wont be able to find one like this again. my reason for considering letting go of this is I just don't use it and I was able to tuck it away at our recreational propertythat wehave now sold, so space is really an issue and I don't want to be tiptoeing around it for the rest of my life.cars like this don't come along every day, rare opportunity to own a real "original"absolute must see,you wont be scratching your head wondering about the authenticity of this one, way to much to say here, you can buy one of these for less $$ but this car is in a condition where very few exist, but you really need to see this to understand why its priced where it is, better yet go see what 30k buys and then come and look at this one. in my opinion patina is alwaysa premium, verses a restored car,and like anything else a car is original[well almost] once.YOUR QUESTIONS ANDINSPECTION IS WELCOMED, ENCOURAGED AND PREFFERED, but please inquirebefore you bid if you are genuinely interested I can be reached at 651 331 8710, NO TEXTING PLEASE!!!!i prefer talking over the phone to answering on ebay as I am not by the computer much..reserve is set well below the current nada valueIf you are local i may look at a nice partial 60s 70s g.m. trade, or a newer gm pickup, but I don't want another garage queen norproject.it would obviously need to work for both parties. anyway if you want a big cheap question mark keep looking for that "all original restored tribute" [???] BUT if you want a nice, REAL onethis is well worth a look. should the car sell I expect an immediate $500 NON REFUNDABLEdeposit via paypal the rest will be cash or certified funds that will clear before this car goes anywhere. I am aware of all the scams so please be sincere and I will do the same.p.s. I really don't need any help selling this thank you.

On Jun-22-16 at 11:45:23 PDT, seller added the following information:i double checked the numbers and this is what I found, the motor has the partial vin so I am certain that's right the rear is a ccf 0302 wichmatches protecto and decodesto a 331 posi the tranny has the partial vin on the drivers side but I am confusedby the tag on the right side of the caseit looks like 70cf22240 and a date of 426 that should mean the 61st day of 1970 the protecto plate says I believe cf0302b so I guess I am not 100% certain on the tranny but it seems odd to me that the vin is stamped on the case unless it was a warranty issue any way I wanted to be up front, I am not sure on it if anyone has any input I am all ears, sorry for the confusion but I want to be as up front as I can beTHANKS!!!
On Jun-22-16 at 17:00:33 PDT, seller added the following information:well i believe iwas wrong I think the protecto plate says 70f428[I was reading the rear end code]the tag on the tranny I believe says 70[in ink] then stamped either 426 or 428 and the bottom line on the tranny tag says 70cf22240 once again there is a partial vin on the left side of the tranny case.hope this helps
