1967 Chevrolet Corvette L79 327/350 Description

Here is my personal 1967 Corvette Coupe, optioned with the highly desirableL-79 327 / 350 hp motor, M-21 4-speed transmission, Marina Blueexterior with White / Bright Blue interior, factory side pipes,posi-traction, rallye wheels, AM/FM radio, speed warning, tintedglass, and new whitewall radials. This particular ’67 is a jewel to own, drive, use and win at any show!
It is a matching numbers car: the VIN, block, trans, rear, allmatching numbers and correct date codes – withcarb, radiator, block – all original / born-with on this car. It isGM trim tag correct / matching “976” Marina Blue exterior and rare andgorgeous “450” white and bright blue interior matching, as well. Thiscar had a full frame-off, two-year, rotisserie restoration completedin 2006 by Marcel’s Corvette Shop – with documentation before, during and after. The motor was completely rebuilt properly to stock specs, it's a bare-body re-paint in period-correct lacquer and interior refurbishment.Odometer was reset at that time and it has only traveled less than 3,500 milessince the frame-off restoration. (previous miles unknown, but does itmatter now?!)
When describing this car it’s hard to find the words – do I just say –“it needs nothing”. Yup, that describes it – it’s quiteperfect! - or should I go into the over the top hyperbole to make surethat you get my point on this car? I guess I should start with apersonal perspective – I have previously owned six 1967L-79 Corvette Coupes – it is my favorite and I owned all of them atdifferent points in my life and all were in differing but excellentshape. I have been involved with the Corvette hobby for almost 40years and this particular one is by far the best one that has evercrossed my path – that’s why I bought it!!
Paint: Body down to the bare glass, block sanded. Painted inperiod correct / accurate, authentic lacquer. Beautiful Marina Blue finish.
Chrome and all exterior stainless steel: All re-done and gleaming -
also in mint condition.
Engine: The L-79 – 327 / 350 hp is also a favorite and highly soughtafter - high compression but with hydraulic lifters – it produces 350hp and can run on today’s pump gas. High output small blocks are theway to go! Engine compartment is highly detailed as you would expect
in a full frame off restoration and motor rebuild. All originalignition / radio shielding and important components including carb, intake manifold, radiator, etc… are all present, intact and are inperfect working order. This car starts easily and pulls strong runswith no hesitation. It is perfectly suited to drive everyday if you sochoose – with a smooth shifting Muncie M-21 four speed transmissionmated to a 3:36 rear-end ratio. 60 mph in fourth gear sits at 2,500rpm or so. Never overheats, stalls or has any issues whatsoever –strong like bull!
Suspension: All rubber bushings, shocks and steering gear were re-doneat the time of the restoration and have been kept up as needed. Carhandles extremely well, rides as smooth and tracks perfectly straight with a very recent high-endfour-wheel alignment being performed to factory specs by a vintageCorvette specialist at Arroway Chevrolet in Mt. Kisco, NY.
Brakes: Refurbished with stainless steel calipers at time of therestoration – along with new pads. It stops straight and true – betterthan when new.
Interior: Was re-done with an accurate Al Knoch interior with dyna-matbeing laid down throughout the interior – keeping it cooler andquieter in the cabin - before gorgeous bright blue carpets and whitedoor panels and seats were installed. The dash is also extremelycorrect in the rare blue - matching the carpets. An interesting GMfact on this particular interior - “450” white / bright blue was onlyavailable with white vinyl from GM originally. The previous owneralways wanted leather interior and asked Al Knoch to make him a set ofwhite door panels and seat covers in white leather – they agreed andmade him a set! That is the interior that is in the car now BUT wealso have a set of white vinyl seats and doorpanels, as well, (for you NCRS fanatics!) All of the gauges havebeen re-furbished and every one works accurately including the clockand the gauge cluster looks perfect. The heater functions as itshould. Additionally, the previous owner being from Florida, it has abrand new Vintage Air – air conditioning unit – that has been added, that integrates into the original heater controls. It blows cold at 34degrees and looks stock.Additionally, the previous owner had this system installed by a veryprofessional shop that has done dozens of these installs in warmweather Florida for lots of Corvette club guys – so there is a box ofall of the original heater parts, control lines and glovebox if someone everchooses to revert back to the original - everything is there -documented and in one box.
I highly recommend that you come see and drive this car to convinceyourself that what I described is dead-on accurate.
