1975 Chevrolet Nova Custom Description
1975 Chevrolet Nova Custom
This car has quite a few options, including:
350 V8Power SteeringPower Disc BrakesAir Conditioning (Not functioning)Cruise ControlRear Defrost
I've rebuilt or replaced many parts on this car in the 5 years I've owned it. Some of the most recent parts rebuilt or replaced:
TH 350 transmission rebuilt with only26K miles (New torque converter and shift kit)New heater coreRebuilt starterNew aluminum core/plastic tanks 3 rowradiator
The engine recently started emitting white smoke on warm-up, signaling a need for head gaskets. I replaced both head gaskets, but the white smoke re-appeared after a few weeks, leading me to the conclusion that there is a crack in either one of the heads, or the block itself. There is no sign of oil in the coolant. The car runs and drives, and I'm confident it could be driven a good distance with no issues.Due tothe amount of miles on this engine, I'd recommend an engine rebuild or replacement.
The body stillwears the original paint, and the vinyl topis 5 years old. Thereare some rust spots underneath thelower trim on both quarter panels, but they are hidden by thetrim. The bottoms of both doors also show some light bubbling. The floors and trunkare solid, and have no signs of rust or holes. The D/S fender was replaced due to the original fender incurring someminor damage. I painted the replacement the closest color I could find, but it obviously does not match perfectly. The original paint buffs up well, but has many defects from age, anddoesn't hold a shine for verylong unless rigorously maintained. The car still has the original spare tire and bumperjack in the trunk.
I've added an aftermarket AM/FM radiowith headphone jack input so music can beplayed through asmartphone ormp3 player. The front dash speaker has been replaced with a modern unit, and there are 2 6X9's in the rear. All electrical components work asthey should. Original owners manual is in the glove box.
ThisNova has been an excellent car! If I didn't have a growing family, I'd put in a rebuilt motor from Summit racing (Approx. $1,500), get a paint job at Maaco (Approx. $500), and have a very nice and reliable classic car toenjoy for many years.
This Nova has a clear California title in my name.
