1968 CAMARO RS/SS/396/375HP/ L78/ 4-SPEED
1968 Chevrolet Camaro RS,SS,396/375 Description
1968 L78/396/375HP/RS/SS/ 4 SPEED CAMARO (Matching number)
Love this car but finances say sell.
MQ coded big block with matching vin and date code to the car.
4 speed trans and 12 bolt
Oversized aluminum radiator (runs about 190 degrees)
Tires and brakes are excellent
Interior is fresh and near perfect
Paint shines great and was an excellent job in it's day. Currently has the beginnings of some minor bubbling in the usual spots, (mainly bottom rear corner of fenders, not the quarters) and a couple touch ups and chips. No thick bondo anywhere. The body is very straight. No checking or sanding marks. I'm pretty much a perfectionist and can be overly critical as to paint and body so please use your own judgement. It is nice the way it is with a couple touch ups or paint and take it to the next level. The big block cars get very expensive when perfect.
Original grotto blue color (base/clear)
RS headlight doors are disconnected but vacuum tank and headlight switch are present (vacuum lines and door canisters were bad). I was changing to electric but never got around to it. I think the complete kit is about $500.00 and more reliable than vacuum.
Floors and trunk are excellent as are the rockers and quarters. (floors appear to be original, no patches or holes)
Door gaps and hinges are excellent. (doors close and seal like new)
Speedometer is not working (I think gear in trans is broken or missing but haven't had time to get it checked. The cable and speedometer are good, I checked with a drill when I first got the car.
Title shows actual miles not tmu (82k)
Exhaust is 3 inch with hooker headers. (Like new condition) Mufflers I believe are flow-master. Exhaust exits in the stock downward position.
The heat is functional with no leaks.
Basically a really nice, quality big block car that unfortunately doesn't get driven. I messed up my knee about the same time I got the car. Shifting constantly makes it worse so driving this car doesn't happen very much.
Inspections are welcome and encouraged. I have limited knowledge about this car except what I can see and was told when I got it. Please send any specific questions and I will answer to the best of my ability. I have not looked for build sheets and don't have the resources to do it now. You are welcome to look if you come to inspect and know where they would be short of disassembling anything. I do know that the heads are rectangular port (from the numbers) and the car comes with the factory aluminum rectangular port intake.
I can offer no guarantee as to quality or authenticity as I didn't build the car. Please use your own judgement and knowledge. I will send any pictures or videos requested.
Block, trim plate and vin pics are available upon request as is a video of the car running.
International sale is fine as long as you handle the pick up and shipping.
Cash offers to end early will be considered but please don't ask the reserve, it may change during the auction once I gauge interest.
