1965 Corvette rare tuxedo black / red interior l79
1965 Chevrolet Corvette Description
For your consideration is a very rare 65 Corvette project. It requires a full restoration but it will be a beauty when finished. Factory tuxedo black with red interior. Black is the rarest factory color for mid years and the most desirable. Unlike most black c2s, this car has its original, never removed tags. Original black is evident in the door jams and many other areas. The car was also born an l79 350 hp car. Sold new at Lustine Chevrolet in Hyattsville MD per ncrs report then to OH. This car will require a COMPLETE restoration. It does not run and there's no way you can drive it home. I've had it for 5 years and had plans of giving it the frame off resto it deserves. The body is pretty nice. No flares ever. It appears to have had a small repair up by the drives side headlight, but I'm not a body man. The nice thing is the car is down to the bonding strips so there is nothing to hide. No layers of old paint or primer hiding problems. As with most Midwest c2 coupes, the outside drip rails need replaces. Also rust in front bottom. Corners of the windshield. Otherwise all seems solid. Doors open and close well with good gaps. Hinge area seems solid. It had an aftermarket hood so I put another c2 flat hood on it. I have most but not all parts to the car. I have not found the exterior window trim as of yet. Also the spare tire carrier is gone and the right side rear bumper. I have 2 lefts somehow. I'm sure there are other items missing. I have a few boxes full of parts for the car. I do have a few new items that go with it like new AL Knoch dash pads that are $1100. I also have a new body mount kit and a new c2 body lift kit that goes with. Also a new rear leaf spring. I'm sure there are other new items. The 327 that is in the car is not the original block but is date code correct being cast one month prior to the cars build date. The heads, intake, rear end and Muncie trans are Original to the car. The trans has the Vin stamped on it. The car does roll and steer and all loose parts will fit in the car for shipping. I will be pleased to show the car during the course of the auction. I have the reserve set as low as you could buy a common, low horse Nassau blue c2 in the same condition. This car should be worth considerably more when completed. Please ask any questions. I will give you the best description I call. Email or call 317sixsixseven624O. No trades. Zero feedback bidders please email first. A $500 deposit is due within 24 hours of the end of the aucion. Balance is due within 7 days of the end of the autcion. Cash or wire transfer. Cashiers checks must clear my bank before anything is released. I can store the car up to 30 days after the end of auction for free. Thanks for looking.
