1970 Chevrolet Suburban Suburban Description

1970 Chevy 3 door suburban 2wd 350/350

I bought this Suburban from the original family’s estate a few months ago. It was parked in a garage under cover since 2000, I spent a couple months bringing it back to life to what you see in the pics and video today. This Suburban has lived in the high desert wine country of Walla Walla WA its whole life. Original 86,xxxx miles on it according to the family I bought it from and my own experience owning dozens of 67-72 GM trucks over the years. WA notes all vehicles over 10 years old mileage exempt on the title. I’m very happy with how this build came out. We turned this truck into a cool daily driving wagon inspired by Southern CA surf culture with some woody accents, lowered with big wheels. This truck was completed a few days ago. I have this truck listed locally for $18,500 OBO, will sell to the 1st local or eBayer that we agree on price. Please watch the entire video and view all the pictures on the link before asking questions, I go into more detail on the video.

MECHANICAL

The motor is a brand new GM 350 crate motor, not a rebuild. This is a pump gas mild performance no fuss motor. We added an aluminum intake and electric choke Edelbrock 4 barrel carburetor and HEI (electronic ignition) for reliability over stock and a performance upgrade. The brake system has been redone. The power steering and every aspect of this vehicle got inspected and fixed if any issues. This is a factory positive traction rear differential. Good dual exhaust with throaty mufflers. Suburban is lowered sitting on 22 in chrome plated aluminum wheels on Toyo Proxes tires. Dealer installed A/C, we converted it from R12 coolant to modern R134A coolant, works great, blows in the 30 degree range.

Body

This truck has an excellent patina two tone look. I’m always looking for paint like this to preserve, we applied the best compounds and spent a few days getting the paint to pop like it does, you can see some purposely applied rub spots to give it that look. The tub floor is Linexed for heat protection and to make it easy to hose out sand or dirt. We did custom wood panels in the rear on the side and over the factory plywood floor to give it that cool look. We made a new head liner, door panels, various pieces throughout the truck. We did carbon fiber on the gauge cluster and hood emblem. The undercarriage is coated with POR-15 in semi gloss to ensure no rust starts. We added a new dash pad and redid the original seats in black cloth on top and back so no burned butt on a hot day.

This was the perfect candidate for a mild restoration, the truck was in excellent condition. This truck is a daily driver, we have worked out all the known bugs, I will continue to drive the truck until it is sold to get some more shakedown miles on it. We built this truck to be driven and enjoyed, it looks great, but is not a 1000 point show car, there are small imperfections here and there. I’ve built several show quality trucks, but those tend not to get driven, much more fun to have a nice not perfect truck to enjoy. This build takes time skill and money, I tried to keep this cost effective for a normal guy or gal to buy, I think I have achieved that, I did go over budget, my BIN price is close to my break even. Truck runs/drives stops great, had it out on the highway at 70mph 1 hand driving, no issues.

I welcome 3rd party inspections during not after the auction. I own Automotive Appraisals & Pre-Buy Inspections, so skip me when looking. I accept payment via bank to bank wire transfer to my US Bank business account within 3 days closed auction or cash in person. No credit cards, no PayPal, no checks, no exceptions. Title and truck will be released after completed funds in full. I have a shipping broker whom has shipped dozens of vehicles for me without a hitch, will put you in contact with him or work with your shipper. I’m glad to speak with serious potential buyers over the phone. Clean WA title in hand in my name.

Only trade considered in a 1966-67 Chevy II Nova 2 door, can trade up down or sideways. I have a hot motor and trans, want a good car to build for my wife.
