Chevy K5 Blazer, CUCV, 1984, 6.2 Diesel
1984 Chevrolet Blazer Description
For sale is this 1984 Chevrolet K5 Blazer. The vehicle was part of the Florida National Guard, and from the looks of it, it was probably mostly stored. One lady bought it off the auction, and drove it for a while. Then she sold it to Tim Evans, a millionaire, who starred in 2012-2013 reality TV show Bamazon (History). The vehicle was prepared to be a part of the show – it got 4 inch lift, tinted windows and a full overhaul. But because of the ITAR restrictions Tim wasn’t able to take it oversees. The Blazer sat in his garage for a year, and I bought it off him in 2013. If you know something about these trucks, you will realize that this one is one of a kind. Compared to others it has very little rust. The bottom looks like it is just couple years old. I used it as a daily driver, and put around 10 000 miles on it. It is around 80 000 right now, all original. Yes, it is bulky, loud, has no A/C or airbags. It is slow. But it is a steel tank on the road. And it has one of the best 4x4. And it is a statement just by itself. It is 6.2 straight diesel, 8 cylinders. It yields about 16-18 miles per gallon. Batteries are strong (it has two batteries and two alternators). Paint is original Army. It has excellent Mud Rover tires, not even 30% used ($800). It comes with full spare, extra tire and some extra parts (fuel line, horn, A/C motor). It is street legal, with the place for the plate on the back bumper, rear view mirror, etc. It has military style gun racks on the driver side. Several various leaks were fixed during the three years I owned it. Nothing serious though. It had quite a few things done to it: - New glow plugs; - New flywheel; - Fully converted to 12 v; - New starter and quite a few new electric lines; - One of the alternators is new (plus the belt); - Back door mechanism is fully rebuilt. It actually works and lockable by key; - Weather stripping on all door is new; - Leaking metal fuel line was replaced; - Back drum brakes were completely replaced a year ago; - Dashboard cover is new; - Transmission is fully rebuilt (gaskets, converter, etc.); - Coolant overflow bottle is replaced; - 12 v plug is installed next to the driver (there were none). It is a solid truck. Very simple. Once you know it, it is very dependable. You can continue just driving it as is, or turn it into a candy. I would love to keep it, but family needs an actual car, and I cannot keep both. $8000. Feel free to make a reasonable offer. Cash or bank transfer. I can take Paypal, but I will add 3% to the final price.Vehicle is for sale also locally, so I reserve the right to end this listing at any time
