In Spring of 1962 Chevrolet really committed itself to the sporty image they had created for the Corvair by finally introducing a Convertible version. This made the Corvair the first production automobile to come with a turbocharger as a factory option. The 1963 model year saw the optional availability of a long 3.08 gear for improved fuel economy, but the Corvair otherwise remained largely carryover with minor trim and engineering changes. Self adjusting brakes were new for 1963. The Monza line was really proving its worth. Of all the Corvair's sold in 1963 nearly 80% were Monza.s. Of those 80%, convertibles accounted for only 20% of all the Monza's sold.

The interior of this car is incredible, all seating surfaces andupholstery is free from stains, rips and tears. The black paint has a nice shine and is free from rust, chips and cracks. Glass is in great condition and the chrome bumpers are in good condition with minimal pitting. Car has been stored in aclimate controlled storage facility along side of (her) sister cars as pictured in photos.
We would love to sell this car to a local resident to enjoy this summer. Take your convertible to the beach for a day or "to be seen" in the Hamptons. This car need new a new home and owner. On Jul-26-16 at 13:03:08 PDT, seller added the following information:A word about title papersBack in 1963 there was no such thing as a vehicle title. You had your bill of sale and your registration. Nowadaysone can get a title for a antique car if you want to spend the time and money but it is not required. In this cars case the NYS registration has a reverse side dedicated to selling this car. It is like a mini title. There is room for the sellers signature and the buyers signature. This paper and a valid bill of sale is all that one will need (in most cases) & (most states) to re-register this car. This car did not have a antique plate issued as the owner just wanted his vanity plate "BLK CORVAIR", in this case aninspectionhad tobe done by a licensed NYS inspection station. If the owner were to have gotten a "vintage or antique tag" no NYS inspection would have been needed. Insurance is completely different than regular modern cars. This vehicle is insured with Hagerty Classic Car Insurance. The premiums for this car (full coverage with liability and comprehensive insurance) is only $260.00 per year as most classic car drivers don't drive their antique cars year round/ everyday. Although the laws might be different in your state, this is a good guide to (buying and owning) a classic car from NY/ PA. Hope that this helps the buyers understand about titles.
Titles vs. registrations as copied from PA DMVIt’s important to note that there are two types of paperwork used to provide a vehicle owner’s proof of ownership. In some states, titles are issued containing an owner’s identity and location and their vehicle, identified by serial number. Other states use a registration method as proof of ownership that is similar to the title procedure. A registration-only state’s official paperwork (registration) can be converted into a title in a state that only issues titles (and vice versa). Title companies aid the process of providing proof of ownership through the registration process in the state of Maine, New Hampshire, Alabama, Georgia or Louisiana, any of which can provide registration for a vehicle, even if a vehicle is not located in that state. That out-of-state registration can usually be transferred to a title or registration in the owner’s home state (the exception being such states as those mentioned above)
Lien'sAs for lien's (loans) on cars, most classic cars are notfinanced, thats not to say that they are not. This vehicle does not have any lien on it. It was purchased about five years ago right here on eBay from a fellow collector. I suppose a potential buyer could do a lien search on a vehicle but its not normally done. There is a VIN number on this car, it is not the (modern 13 digit number that todays cars have) thus these are recorded by the state, DMV and repair shops.
VIN numbersSince 1954, all vehicles made in the United States are assigned avehicle identification number(VIN). In the first few decades of VIN assignment, the numbers themselves varied depending on the vehicle's manufacturer—there was no standard regarding length, character type, etc.
Beginning with the production of vehicles model year 1981 and newer, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)standardized the assignment of VINsto be a combination of 17 characters (numbers and letters).
*Buying a classic car from a trustworthy seller is always a good idea. I guarantee that this vehicle is free from lien's, loans and holdings. With todays recording of information like car registrations and State Safety Inspections the state of NY would red flag a stolen/ lost or bank loaned vehicle.

On Jul-27-16 at 05:26:57 PDT, seller added the following information:Another update:Most Corvair owners know that their engines leak some oil, in fact most old car leak oil. This car has a very slight oil leak. After talking with other Corvair owners, they all agree that you should always carry a quart of oil with you AND a extra fan belt. Its funny that no other Corvair seller here on eBay has an oil leak. Truth is they ALL leaked oil as they came off the factory line. It was a GM oversight in design. Not much else I can say about this subject. Most old cars leak oil and other fluids.
The point is this is not a Barrett Jackson car auction. $50k of repairs and restoration did NOT go into this car. But $7k worth ofrestorationand repairs did go into it. I will say it again, this car has passed its NY State Inspection just last week and thats not easy to due with a 53 year old car and NY States strictrequirements.
