Beautiful Restored Example, Thoughtfully Upgraded

Chevrolet introduced the Impala in 1958 for the company’s 50th anniversary. As the premier Bel Air model it was distinguished from its predecessors and lower-priced contemporaries by a set of three taillights, a restyled rear fender treatment and a longer wheelbase. Coil springs, color-keyed door panels and brushed aluminum trim further enhanced its appeal as a luxurious and sophisticated automobile.

This stunning triple black example has been restored and in the last several years has been tastefully upgraded and freshened. The car features a 348 CI motor with Offenhauser valve covers, an Edelbrock carburetor and an aluminum radiator. It is fitted with a compliment of luxury features, such as power steering, power windows, power top and an automatic transmission. The car has been upgraded with drilled and ventilated disc brakes front & rear, a custom full leather interior, and custom stereo (amplifier located in the trunk, iPod hook up in glove box.)

The car comes with a binder of receipts from Bruce Canepa’s renowned shop that total over $66,000 for mechanical sorting and other enhancements. The Impala makes a gorgeous presentation with beautiful chrome and bright work and impressive panel fit. Please note the picture of the bubble in the passenger vent window chrome. For the last several years the car has resided in one of the most revered collections in the country.

This is an outstanding first-year Impala. A quintessential piece of fifties Americana, this example has been thoughtfully upgraded and gone through by one of the most respected shops in the United States. Discerning collectors would be well advised to take a close look at this rare opportunity.

I am helping the owner in the sale process of this car and I will be answering all inquiries for him. The owner and the cars are new to eBay and that is why we don't have any feedback yet. Please contact me for any more info you would like, and if you need any additional photos, I am happy to provide them. We have several other listings currently for other 50s American cars.
