Up for bids is this standout 1967 Chevelle SS. This car was restored by the owner of Ausley Chevelle Parts (chevelle.com) in 2002 and was used as their catalog cover car at that time. Since restoration the car has logged just under 4000 miles - it runs, drives, and looks like new.

The car was taken down to metal and refinished in its original color of Marina Blue. The prep and application were first rate, this is show quality paint. There are no chips, scratches or dings, and of course no rust issues. The car was taken completely apart before painting, you'll find no overspray or masking lines anywhere. Glass was removed and all weatherstripping replaced, every piece. The body on this Chevelle is laser straight with excellent panel fit - the doors, hood and decklid all open and close precisely, probably better than new. Tires are quality BF Goodrich Silvertowns, a classic redline look with the modern construction and safety of a radial.
Both bumpers front and rear are flawless and all of the car's trim is new. It all adds up to a show quality presentation.
Lamps, lenses and emblems are all new. Headlights are classic T3's.
Iconic Big Block hood. Correct wiper assemblies. The windshield is a high quality Pilkington replacement with no flaws. Nice attention to detail everywhere you look.
The window surround trim is all in exceptional condition. Trunk has been refinished, and all wiring front to rear is new.
The interior has been completely redone to stock specifications.
Door panels, sill plates, window seals and sweeps - all new.
Very nice walnut steering wheel. The 3rd photo below shows a 67-only 'blinker' tach, so named because its mounting position obscured the left side turn signal indicator on the dash.
The Hurst linkage is perfectly precise and shifts right on the money.
All gauges function as they should and show good readings. Lights, signals, horn, wipers, heater, fan, etc are all working, the only in-op items are the radio and console clock.
Headliner, visors, rear seat and door hardware all show great fit and finish.
Clean underdash area. The VIN and cowl tag rivets are original and undisturbed.
The entire drivetrain in this car has been rebuilt, it starts on the flick of the switch and runs very strongly. The engine is a 396 from 1970-72, the block has been decked so I can't decode it further. What I can tell you is that it's a solid-lifter tire-screeching animal and will launch this car faster than you can say bye-bye. The M21 shifts perfectly and the posi-rear will light up the tires easily if you're not careful. The build quality on this car is terrific, it runs down the road straight and square without a squeak or rattle, steers precisely, brakes well and runs cool. The combination of the headers feeding into Flowmasters makes for a great sound.
Quality workmanship everywhere you look, this car was built right.
The undercarriage shows replacement floor and trunk pans with solid original sills and frame. Brakes, suspension, fuel system and exhaust are all new. This car is dialed in and ready to hit the ground running, an extremely nice specimen of high-performance Americana.
