1969 Chevrolet C-10 Description

Pickups represent the fastest-growing segment of the old car hobby, and you can get into a cool vintage hauler for not a lot of cash with vehicles like this 1969 Chevrolet C10. Nicely finished in a way that you'll be proud to show, it's got a great-running 400-inch V8, a cool color combination, and a bucket seat interior that makes it feel like a Camaro with a bed. It's easy to see why these are so popular.Copper metallic paint is a great choice on the square-jawed C10, flashy but not over-the-top, and it highlights the fact that these are some of the best-looking trucks ever built. So many of them were used up and thrown away, but this one looks quite straight and clean, with sheetmetal that lines up rather well and excellent prep that gives the finish a deeper, richer look. They added a modest cowl induction hood, which includes the spine down the center, a Chevy truck trademark for many years and a good way to maintain the family resemblance. A few emblems were shaved, but it's not like anyone won't know what this is, even with the smoothed and filled tailgate out back. A billet grille adds to the clean, uncluttered look and tinted windows certainly help with that vibe. The bed is nicely refinished, so nice that you'll probably hesitate to throw anything back there, but you do get a polished stainless tool box with the fuel tank stashed inside to dress things up a bit. The bumpers are shiny, there are clear taillights out back, and the whole truck just has a charismatic look that's hard to resist.Black cloth buckets give this pickup a much more functional and comfortable interior, and it's been dressed to take advantage of that fact. There are shiny door inserts that really brighten the place up and a polished tilt steering column with a wood-rimmed wheel that looks great. The seats are in good condition with an OEM-looking fabric and simple patterns, and a flip-up armrest makes room for a third passenger in a pinch. Original gauges monitor the engine, and while they're a bit faded, they're still better than what you got in most pickups of the period. An AM/FM/cassette stereo with a CHEVROLET emblem on it looks like it was born in the center of the dash and there's a trick B&M shifter on the floor to manage the TH400 3-speed automatic transmission underneath.Nothing works better than cubic inches to get a pickup truck rolling, and this awesome C10 uses a 400 cubic inch small block that definitely delivers the goods. With an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor, long-tube headers, and various other upgrades, it's a great runner that moves the half-ton with ease. It looks tidy under the hood, although it's not intended to be show quality, not at this price. On the other hand, things like the polished valve covers and accessory brackets make it easy to brighten things up and you can tell there's recent work on the radiator cradle. The exhaust system is tucked into the frame for good ground clearance and uses Flowmaster mufflers at the rear to keep it quiet in the cab. The suspension is largely stock, so it rides and handles like it should, and the fat 295/50/15 white-letter radials on deep-dish aluminum wheels give it the perfect stance. An entry-level truck that's turn-key, or a clean truck that can be taken to the next level, this is one of those great opportunities we get now and then.
