1968 Chevrolet Impala Description

Looking to sell or trade my 1968 Biscayne 6-passenger station wagon.
History: This wagon originated and spent most of it's life in southern and salt-free climates, which is why it is so solid underneath. It was sold new at Kidd Motors in Hartwell, Georgia on May 3, 1968. The original buyer was Nancy M. Matthews and most of the original documentation is present, as is the protecto-plate and build sheet for the wagon.
The wagon originally came with the L-35 396 motor and TH400 (as shown on the build sheet). These items were removed from the car around five years ago by a previous owner and replaced with a 70's-vintage 350/350 package. I looked at the wagon when the 396 was still present but did not have the funds at the time to purchase.
The original 12-bolt with 3.31 gears is still present. The car has tight power steering and manual drum brakes which work well. The car was ordered without AC.
Motor: 350 with aluminum intake, HEI, new Edelbrock carburetor. Mechanically the car is well sorted-out and is dependable. The owner who swapped the 396 for the 350 is skilled and didn't take shortcuts. Engine is strong but does have an initial puff of smoke if the car sits for awhile and is not started, probably worn valve seals..easily replaced if needed.
Transmission: 350 3-speed auto, shifts crisp but does have a typical leak somewhere, as I notice a small spot after it sits for awhile.
Interior: original goldish color, well worn but usable for a cheap cruiser. Dash has a crack on it, headliner is pretty good with a loose place in the far rear. Carpet is faded, door panels have been re-dyed in places and are the weakest part.
Doors close good, glass is all good.
Body: Body filler was used around the rear qtr lips but looks good. The rest is very solid with normal dings.
Underneath: Very nice except for a small area at the corner of the drivers side front floor pan. It is soft here and could use a small patch someday. I drive as-is with no problems. Frame/storage compartment in nice shape.
Paint: 10-20 footer paint job with imperfections. Not show paint by any means, just driver quality which looks good.
Lights: All work except reverse lights. Horn works, key buzzer works. Car has the factory radio-delete plate present.
Miscellaneous Notes:
Flowmaster mufflers with dual exhaust
Rear back glass needs some help going both ways....needs placed back on track inside the tail gate or adjusted. Rear bumper could use replating.
If you want attention or a cool cruiser at a reasonable cost, then this is up your alley. Everywhere I go you hear stories, get comments and trade offers....you know. Not even close to show quality but a car you can have fun with and modify more if you want.....I had planned on a 496 stroker transplant into the roomy engine bay someday, since it already has the HD suspension and 12-bolt HD rearend.
Trades: I am open to trade offers......jet skis, boats, truck, other muscle cars or wagons, later model daily driver car or truck, AMC Pacer, later model convertible.........just send me some info. Clear title in my name, no BS. Thought about driving it down to the Rod Run in Pigeon Forge if it does not sell.

Wire transfer only....at least $500 within 24 hrs of committing to purchase....I will supply you with a routing number/acct. Remainder of price must be cash or wire transfer before car/title will be released. No checks or money orders ofany kind accepted. I can assist with shipping if you want it picked up. May be able to deliver for a pre-arranged fee. Title is in my name and buyer's name will be written on the title and separate bill of sale before the title/car leave my possession.

Thanks for looking.....!
