1977 Chevrolet Nova Description

We'd advise you to keep on moving if all you're looking for is that old-school coupe that reminds you of your high school days. That's because this 1977 Chevrolet Nova is the ultimate sleeper. After all, from the outside, you would have a tough time guessing there's a fire-breathing performance V8 under the hood...and that's the way we like it! These fourth-generation Novas are often forgotten a bit in the classic car world because insurance regulations had taken the power away from these cool little coupes. That's certainly been rectified in this one, but it's hard to tell with its first impression. From the exterior, the factory-correct Buckskin Metallic is a great sleeper color because it does a fantastic job of highlighting the clean lines on these fourth-generation cars. But then you look a little closer. The billet grille, the large 17-inch Centerline wheels, and the aggressive stance are all hints not to mess with this Nova. The same attitude is taken with the interior. On first impression it looks like a matching Buckskin tan with a nice upgrade to more modern cloth bucket seats and a center console with cup holders... But wait...why is there no back seat? Yup, this one saves every ounce of weight it can. You start to understand why the moment you slip behind the factory steering wheel. Ahead of you is a full set of auxiliary gauges, including a large AutoMeter tach. Plus, you right hand gets the B&M ProRatchet shifter. Oh yes, this Nova might have creature comforts like a heater/defrost and an AM/FM stereo, but it really just wants to get down to business immediately. Open the hood, and this sleeper gets downright sinister. Black engine bay, black air grabber, black valve covers, and newer black belts & hoses - this Chevy is out to show you its dark side. The 350 cubic-inch V8 has been bored .30 over (355ci) and is built to take on all comers. It has great performance upgrades like a SCAT rotating assembly, roller hydraulics, World Products cylinder heads, Comp Cams, Holley Street Avenger four-barrel carburetor, and Edelbrock Victory Jr intake. When this one fires up, the Hedman performance headers feed a roaring H-pipe dual exhaust that announces this sleeper's true street-eating intentions. The monster V8 feeds a stout TH350 three-speed automatic that has a 2700 RPM stall and the aforementioned ratchet shifter to keep you in the best powerband and give you superior control. Speaking of control, the 12-bolt Moser limited-slip rear end with traction bars does a great job of keeping the rubber on the road. And it's running a 3.73 ratio so you can get good power take-offs without ruining everyday usability. Plus, with power steering and front disc brakes, this super Nova can genuinely be used for more than just teaching other cars a tire-smoking lesson.Complete with build receipts, restoration photos, and even the factory buildsheet, this is a very unique and cool Nova. So you know if you miss this opportunity there may never be something so well built at this affordable price again. Call today!!
