For sale in our Chicago showroom is a fully restored 1970 Chevrolet Camaro Z28. After a successful run of the first generation Camaro from 1967-69 Chevrolet committed to a complete redesign making this iconic muscle car larger and wider and was still based on the GM F-Body. The most coveted amongst collectors are the early split bumper models and the Z-28 was the top of the line. This particular 1970 is one of the finest examples you are likely to find.
In addition to being a nice vehicle to start with, this Z28 has undergone a full frame off restoration about 10 years ago and has only been driven approximately 1,000 miles since. A meticulous amount of maintenance and care has been done to keep this car in amazing condition. On the underside you will notice this car is just as clean and correct as anything you see on the exterior. The paint work was completed to the highest standards in the correct Mulsanne blue metallic that was finished with PPG products then clear coated and buffed.
As the restoration process was started the car was completely disassembled and all body parts were sandblasted including the front frame and components. The front suspension was completely rebuilt with all new parts including stainless steel brake lines, fuel lines and a new fuel tank. All of the glass was replaced as was the deluxe interior. All new bumpers and emblems round out the exterior restoration and all of the stainless trim has been polished.
The 350 Cubic Inch V8 has always been known for reliability and durability and this one is no exception. A complete stock rebuild was completed about 15,000 miles with a small cam, aluminum intake and a Holly 750 Carburetor. Bringing this car up to speed is the 4-speed manual transmission with cue-ball shifter.
