1958 Chevrolet Impala this car was found by a person, whoseUncle had died this man had kept this car in a dry barn for years believed to be 20 years or better.
I don't know much history on the car. But what I can tell you is the car is very solid, looks like it might of been restored some many years back. As these cars have been desirable for many years over 40 years anyway. I have been all over this car on the ground and on the hoist. I have taken many pictures and videos of the car running and the likes, many photos of the car on the hoist. This is what I have found.
It is a very soild car. It has a very small amount of rust in front drivers floor pan area size would be around 4" by 6". There is a spot in the passengers floor of about the same size. The trunk has two areas that have had patches which are much larger than the rust areas these area seen from the under side are 5" by 3" and other area is about the same size very small area which I have taken shots from top and bottom to stop confusion. This is an outstanding car that's very solid.
I have looked this car over extensively. The glass in the car is all intact clear an unbroken. The trim on it with the exception of the rockers is in great shape. I do have two new rocker mouldings used which are in great shape. The radio does not work but everything else does with the exception of maybe a bulb being burned out . This car drives exceptionally well for an old car has a little bit of a hanger joint vibration . The engine runs like a sewing machine. I would assume that the engine has been rebuilt or somewhere and it's past as there are no signs of leaks or issues.
Paint has imperfections, scratches, imperfections, older paint maybe 35 years ago. But has stood the test of time. It would be no problem driving this car as a survivor. Or spend some time and give it the clay bar and compound it then a nice coat of wax. If I wasyounger and had more energy I would do this. As I think it would clean up quite nice.
The interior was restored with a none factory type vinyl on seats and door panels, the cloth fabric seams to be of original type but not the tri color layout this I prefer. The carpet was removed and disposed of to give clear access to the floor panels. The underlay has also been removed awaiting disposal of in the garbage. The headliner is in great shape and would not need replaced at all. The interior chrome shows well and I believe it would not need any attention other than a cleaning.
The tires are all in good condition they are old type nylon bias tires, with original rims and hub caps that are all in decent shape.
The exhaust is all new and made of stainless steel that is 2.5" with stainless mufflers with a great sound, oh and its all welded nice job.
The car sits well on all 4 corners.
Overall this isa very decent solidcar.
