The CY Airflow was a Canadian built Chrysler produced in Windsor, Ontario. Only 445 were produced before Chrysler determined to halt Canadian production. The CY was actually a DeSoto Airflow with Chrysler trim. As such the CYs were the only 6 cylinder Chrysler Airflows. Only three are known to exist with this one being the only one known in the US.
This car was restored in the late 80s-early 90s. It is in very good driver condition. In the last year the fuel system has been cleaned, the tank chemically treated and the carburetor rebuilt. The brakes were serviced and a new master cylinder and wheel cylinders installed. Everything works other than the trip odometer. The freewheeling functions properly. Running boards freshly restored with correct patterned rubber. The brown cloth/leather seating and interior are in excellent condition. The engine starts easily even when cold. The Salon Brown Poly paint is shiny but has age issues. The floors (wood) are solid as is the frame. Chrome is shiny and presentable but has patina. The car is driven regularly with the longest round trip to date being 50 miles.
