1937 Chrysler Imperial Description
Rare Depression-era top-of-the-line Mopar. Imperial was the most expensivemodel of the Chrysler line and competed with Cadillac and Lincoln. Straight-Eight flathead, 3 speed floor shift, factory overdrive. Foot starter. Crank out windshield. Suicide doors. Starts, runs, goes down the road just like 1937. Smooth clutch. Nice interior. Seat belts in front. Solid Southern car. Not a Northeast rust bucket. Previous owner had for 40+ years. Much work done and carefully maintained. New Coker radial wide whites, Bumpers, hood ornament, hood trim, quality re-chromed. Gas tank relined and new sending unit installed. New complete exhaust, fuel pump, carb rebuild, four shocks, generator rebuild, radiator refurb, thermostat, Optima battery, starter rebuild, fan belt, fender skirts (not shown in pics.), rebuilt vacuum wipers and ignition parts.This car is in nice driver condition. It is not a show car. The paint has some cracks here and there, touch ups, etc. but overall presents well and I have been proud to drive it around in the summertime for a number of yearsand it always get thumbs ups and lots of comments. It is an 80 year old vehicle and one must bear this in mind when contemplating purchase.You are not bidding on a new Toyota.
